Chester Ray Shaver, son of James and Nola Teague Shaver, was born Feb 15, 1922, on a farm north of Hartville, MO. He departed this life Friday, Nov 25, 1994, in his home near Hartville, MO, at the age of 72 years, 9 months, and 10 days. He was united in marriage to Rita Lorene Robertson on May 2, 1956 and to this union 3 sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his only sister Fern Nichols. Chester is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rita, of the home; his 3 sons Wayne Shaver and his wife Nancy, and Wendell Shaver and his wife Lori, all of Hartville, MO, and Wyatt Shaver of Niangua, MO; 2 grandsons Jared and Grant Shaver; 2 granddaughters Casey and Jenne Shaver; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law Dale and Fern Shaver, Carl and Ilene Shaver, all of Grovespring, MO, and Levi and Garna Shaver of Hartville, MO; one brother-in-law Millard Nichols of Conway, MO; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. "Chet", as he was known by his family and many friends, was a hard worker. He spent most of his life in Wright County farming and doing carpenter work. He loved music and spent many hours playing his mandolin for pie suppers in little one room schools, senior citizen buildings, and in many homes around the community. Chet had professed his faith in Christ and assured his family and friends that he was ready to meet his Maker. He was a devoted family man and had a great love for his family. Chet was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and was a caring friend to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed in his home and community. Our loss is heaven's gain.
