Functions of a Domain Working Group Provide a forum for discussion Develop Change Requests Proposals (CRPs) for existing Standards. Develop reports and recommendations with the intent seeking approval by the Technical Committee for release of these documents as White Papers, Discussion Papers or Best Practices Papers. Prepare and deliver informational presentations and discussions about the market use of adopted Standards.

Land Administration Charter Purpose / Scope: Examine existing systems of land administration; Develop best practices regarding standards-based implementations; Identify potential interoperability experiments, pilots and testbeds to validate interoperable solutions Emphasis on close coordination with partners in Land Administration SDOs (ISO, OASIS, W3C etc.) Associations (RICS, FIG, etc.) Open to members and non-members

Charter Members Adv Germany ATOS ESRI ESRI Canada FM Global INEGI Intergraph Leica Geosystems Metaspatial Oracle Thomson Reuters Trimble United Nations/ World Bank Group

Activities Examine the current land administration system landscape, with particular emphasis on the nations with significant land administration interoperability challenges; Identify best practices in open standards, including those of the, ISO and others, in addressing key data integration, management and sharing challenges; Develop outreach materials to help the technology and user community in land administration understand and align on the use of open geospatial standards for land administration; Develop an analytical framework to identify issues related to land administration; Reference and catalog existing Land Administration vocabularies; A known starting point is the Cadastre and Land Administration Thesaurus (CaLAThe);

Activities (cont d) Provide input to ongoing standards work and/or recommend creation of Standards Working Groups, as necessary, to address the gaps in the standards baseline; there is already identified requirements to coordinate with the LandInfra DWG and SWG; Communicate issues with non- standards to the SDOs charged with maintenance of those standards; and Identify and recommend interoperability initiatives pilots and / or experiments to unite the technology and user communities in the testing, demonstration and validation of standards best practices and operational prototypes that: Inform organizations regarding how to request / mandate open standards in acquisitions; Provide evidence of the value of open standards based approaches; and Encourage industry-wide scaling of land administration capability.

Building Information Modelling Rich and shared knowledge resource for managing building information in three physical dimensions and enables multidisciplinary collaboration among different stakeholders involved in the development process of high-rise buildings. Land Administration Domain Model (LADM) standardization process 1. Start of LADM (2002 2006) from Washington D.C. to Munich 2. Start of Standardization (2006-2008) preliminary talks within ISO/TC211 the players: FIG, ISO (TC211), CEN (TC287), JRC, UN-HABITAT first proposal & voting 3. Actual standardization (2008 2012) NP, WD, CD, DIS, FDIS, IS... LADM 9
