Report Purpose: To cancel a portion of Woolridge Street to facilitate safety and traffic operation improvements at the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Woolridge Street. Background: This report relates to a City-initiated road cancellation application adjacent to the future development site for an Acura car dealership (the "Acura property") at 1400 Lougheed Highway (Attachment 1). The proposed road cancellation, totalling 715m^ would be cancelled and ultimately consolidated with the Acura property on its south boundary. As compensation, the Acura property would exchange two portions of their land totalling 715 m^ as dedicated "Road" along its north and east boundaries (Attachment 2). The intent ofthe exchange with the Acura property is to allow for an Improved horizontal geometry on the south leg ofthe intersection at Schoolhouse Street and Lougheed Highway arising from the detour movements necessary for the King Edward Street Overpass project. The exchange would improve the traffic operation and safety at the intersection. Both the City and property owner are in agreement with this exchange. City of Coquitlam

Conclusion: Staff supports the proposed road cancellation and recommends that Council give Highway Dedication Cancellation Bylaw No. 4103, 2010first, second and third readings and direct that this Bylaw be advertised in the local newspaper to address notification requirements ofthe Community Charter. Name of Bylaw This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as "Cityof Coquitlam Highway Dedication Cancellation Bylaw No. 4103, 2010". 2. Road Closure That portion of road (the "Road") outlined in heavy black outline on the Reference Plan attached hereto as Schedule "A" and forming part of this Bylaw is hereby closed to traffic. 3.
