TOP VIEW OF GROUND LEVEL & SECTION ALONG THE ENTRANCE VIEW OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE 5 BIRDSEYE VIEW OF THE PROPOSAL The project is an entry on the international architectural competition for the new archaeological museum of Nicosia. The proposal follows the concept of a twofold spiral, which expands throughout the overall design. This gesture complements the outline of the plot, and it also establishes substantial connection between the museum and the city. The design configures a confined space, accommodating the exhibits with appropriate controlled light, while it evenly extends above and below ground. In this way, the building mass projected on the surrounding urban landscape is significantly reduced, thus providing the city with an extensive openair and lively public space.
MEDICAL SCHOOL IN NICOSIA Architects: K. Kyriakides & Associates SA, Anastasios Biris & Partners Architectural Office Structural Engineer: J. Marneris & Associates Location: Nicosia, Cyprus Area: 8,500 sqm. Year: 2015 6 http://koumoutsos.gr/medical-school
CONCEPT SKETCH ENTRANCE LEVEL TOP VIEW & ELEVATION The project is a participation in the international architectural competition held by the University of Cyprus for the new building facilities of the Medical School on Athalassa Campus. The design configures a U-shaped building around a central planted yard that is cut through by a diagonal promenade on the East-West direction. The school premises are arranged in building wings according to the academic, research, and laboratory facilities, as well as public rest areas on the roof garden. 7
vacation residences in andros Architects: Sofia Tsiraki Magda Chambaloglou Stavros Koumoutsos Structural Engineer: Spyros Karachalios Location: Andros, Cyclades Area: 300 sqm. Year: 2016 8 http://koumoutsos.gr/residences-andros
HOUSE Β ENTRANCE TO HOUSE A' MASTERPLAN HOUSE A The project consists of two residences on the island of Andros. Both houses are located on a rocky slope facing the Aegean sea, and are designed according to a mutual openplan. The design configures minimal interior and exterior spaces along a linear axis that originates from the towerhouse, and gradually fades to the cycladic landscape. Construction materials are dry masonry, exposed concrete, industrial floorings, and glass. 9 TERRACE OF HOUSE B'

INTERIOR VIEW OF THE ATRIUM The building successfully belongs to the A energy class, and it rather relies on its design philosophy than on technological features of low energy consumption. Masonry facades contribute largely to energy efficiency of the house, as well as to climatic protection, and visual separation from a building which is to be added in the future along the northern part of the plot. The centrally positioned atrium, the green roof, and a natural lake that wraps around the side of the residence, are complementary features of the design. Construction is in progress. 11 TOP VIEWS OF LEVELS 0 & 1 NIGHT VIEW OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE
argo museum Architects: Sofia Tsiraki Stavros Koumoutsos Zoe Alexandropoulou Consulting Architect: Tassos Biris Collaborating Architect: Magda Chambaloglou Structural Engineers: Pagonis-Polychronopoulos-Kinatos Co. Location: Volos, Greece Area: 2,500 sqm. Year: 2014 12 TOP VIEWS OF GROUND & UPPER LEVELS http://koumoutsos.gr/argo-museum
The project was awarded with Honourable Mention at the international architectural competition held by the Municipality of Volos for the design of the Museum for Argo. The project was also selected for publication in the 2016 Yearbook of Domes International Review of Architecture. The design configures an outer structure made of concrete, and an inner one of timber frame, which shape the main hall where the ship of Argo is exhibited. The outline of the museum follows the spatial offset of the ship in top view and elevation, and as such it operates as a landmark for the provincial town of Volos. WOODCHIP POWER PLANT Architects: Sofia Tsiraki Stavros Koumoutsos Structural Engineers: Pagonis-Polychronopoulos-Kinatos Co. Location: Industrial Park of Attica Area: 700 sqm. Year: 2013 14 FAÇADE DETAIL http://koumoutsos.gr/woodchip-power-plant
TOP VIEW OF UPPER LEVEL & ELEVATION The project was an entry on the private architectural competition held by DOS Energy Hellas Ltd. for the design of the outer shell of a biomass power plant that produces energy by processing woodchip. The concept was to showcase the raw material of production as key feature of the design of the outer shell. The design configures a thickened facade, which provides passive cooling and shading, and functions as a storage system for the raw material. Woodchip is piled in these custom-made displays, which are constructed of structural steel, glass, and pressed-wood panels. 15

ENTRANCE CANOPY CONSTRUCTION DETAIL The building was designed and constructed to accommodate production and administration facilities of Uni-Pharma S.A. in Attica. It is divided into base, body and top that follow different uses: production line on ground level, supplementary industrial facilities on middle levels, and administration on upper level. The design follows an ergonomic system of columns and beams made of reinforced concrete, which is evidently the main construction material. The outer skin of the building is complemented with aluminium and steel-framed constructions, such as canopies, curtain walls, shades, and panels. 17
