Bright, J. H. 1883 MRS. BUDDY HALL DOROTHY Buddy Hall MRS. COVERT HANSON (DAPHNE SMITH) Daphne Smith and Covert Pelley Hanson (1904-1979) were married in 1943. Daphne worked at Neill s store and Pelley worked for TG County road maintenance from 1936-1972. Covert is buried in the WV Cemetery. MRS L.B. HANSON (ANNIE BOYD) 1875-1955 Annie Hanson married Laburn Bates Hanson in 1899 in Sterling City. He was known as Little Labe (1872-1936). Both are buried in WV Cemetery. See Hanson, Little Labe family story. NOEL PETE HANSON 1902-1978 Noel Pete Hanson (1902-1978) was born on the Rappley Ranch near WV. He was a rancher and lifelong resident of Tom Green and Sterling counties. See Hanson, Little Labe family story. MRS. PETE HANSON (GEORGIA MAE KING) Mrs. Noel Pete Hanson Georgia Mae King (1908-1970) and Noel Pete Hanson were married in 1933. Both are buried in the WV Cemetery. MRS. JAKE HARPER (IDA MAE RAWLS) Mrs. Jake Z. Harper (1888-1989)??????? Ida Mae Rawls and Jake Harper ( ) were married in 1907. FRANK HARRINGTON 1887-1954 Frank E. Harrington married Minnie M. BRIGHT, S. T. 1883 ALBERT ADAM AL HART 1906-1979 Hart had a small jewelry store in WV in the 1940s- 50s. He had a telescope and was an amateur astronomer. Al hunted buried treasure around the area and stories vary as to his success. When the store building was moved after Al s death, a large (empty) hole was discovered under the flooring, leading to much speculation in the community. JIM HOLLAND 1880-1965 James L. Holland moved to WV in 1901. J. L. and Kate Holland registered their cattle brand K T in Tom Green County in 1920. See Holland family story MRS. JIM HOLLAND (KATE HANSON) BEN MATTHEWS Kate (Hanson) Holland was born in WV in 1881, died in 1952. She and James L. Holland were married in 1912. Both are buried in the WV Cemetery. Bob Mims registered his cattle brand L in 1902 in the counties of Tom Green, Coke, and Irion. NEILL MUNN Father of Carl & Wayne Munn CARL G. MUNN 1901-2001 and Kathleen Turner (1902-1975) were married in 1925. After Kathleen s death, Carl and Agnes Wright Pontius were married in 1976. See Munn, Carl family story. Laura and George owned and operated Neill Grocery for 29 years. GEORGE NEILL 1915-1999 George W. Neill served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. Neill served as WV postmaster for 32 years. He is buried in the WV Cemetery. W.E. NEWSOM 1868-1961 W. E. Newsom (1868-1961), married Florence (1877-1945). Both are buried in WV Cemetery.
Carwile, H. V. (Hubert) 1916 Mrs. Forest Newton (FRANCES G. WINDHAM) Frances G. Fanny Windham (1892-1968) married Lewis Young (1880-1939) in 1908. After Lewis death, Fanny married Forrest G. Newton in 1942. See Lewis Young family story. TOM ONSTOTT Thomas J. Onstott and Lucy Cerena Earley were married in 1925. CARTER T. RAWLINGS 1895-1982 MRS. HOWARD F. RUDES (FRANCES ELALLA) Carter T. Rawlings married Ruth Adell Cone (1900-1972). He was serving on the WV School Board in 1935 when the gym, a WPA project, was constructed. Frances Elalla Rudes (1887-1973) and Howard F. Rudes (1890-1955) are both buried in the WV Cemetery EWELL A. SHAW 1902 - Ewell A. Shaw Tom Green County employee. Moved to WV in 1936. MRS. EWELL A. SHAW (CLARICE VAUGHT) Clarice Vaught b. 1911, married Ewell A. Shaw in 1928. George M. Skeete 1907-1979 was well known for soil conservation endeavors on his ranch land on Rocky Creek, west of WV. In the 1950s, he was the first in the area to own a private plane and often flew into WV to pick up his mail. A dirt landing strip was located in a pasture on the northwestern edge of WV. Mrs. George Skeete (ROBBIE IRENE MIMS) Robbie Irene Mims (1903-1968) married George M. Skeete in 1935. Before her marriage, Robbie Mims was a teacher at WVISD in 1926-1927 school year. 306 WHO S WHO

Collyns, C.W.B 1892 MRS. JIMMY WALRAVEN EVA b. 1920, m. 1945, moved to WV in 1948. JIMMY WALRAVEN 1919-1993 Truck driver. Served in WWII. HEZZIE WATKINS 1900-1979 Vennie W. Hezzie Watkins (1900-1979) married Martha Jane Bryan (1901-1979). Both are buried in WV Cemetery along with infant sons who died in 1926 and 1927. MRS. GEORGE WEDDELL (RUTH IRENE BAKER) Ruth Irene Baker (1900-1996) and George J. Weddell were married in 1923. Irene was a true and willing ranch wife, supportive of community activities, especially WV School affairs. (See Weddell family story and WV Bridge Club history) W.C.J. DUBB WEDDELL 1902-1959 Dubb married Pearl Irene Duplantis (1906-1955) in 1927. He was born near WV. After ranching south of Christoval for 27 years, they relocated to the WV area in 1948. GEORGE J. WEDDELL 1899-1971 served in the US Marine Corps in France during WW I. In 1919, he began ranching in the WV area. He served on the WVISD School Board for 22 years. The gym (1935 WPA project) was built during his tenure on school board. JOHN BARTON Combination lock boxes were installed in the post office in 1925. John Barton collects his mail in 1952. AINSLIE TURNER 1871-1963 registered his cattle brand 96- in TG County in 1887. In 1897 he registered the -Lbrand. Turner and Susan Chambers (1874-1938) were married in 1897.
