GRAMMAR REVIEW: Topic: Verb Form Future Perfect Progressive (5-6 minutes) Description: The future perfect progressive tense is formed by adding the following: will + have + been + present participle of the verb modal modal past participle of be verb ending in ing It is used to show a continuous action that will be completed at some point in the future. I will have been sleeping when you get here. (future perfect progressive form) (adverbial phrase showing an indefinite point of time in the future) It can also be used to show how long an action has been happening at a specific point in the future. The action may continue after which. Ex. By 2015, the real estate company will have been existing for 15 years. (Future point in time) (future perfect progressive) (duration of action) - Definite time in the future can be shown by adding prepositional phrases such as: by tomorrow a day after my 12 th birthday in 2010 on our 11 th anniversary - Duration of action can be shown by adding the preposition for + a definite unit of time Ex. for 2 seconds; for 3 minutes; for 4 days; for 5 months; for 6 years; for 7 decades; for 8 centuries. 5 Remember: The future perfect progressive tense is used to show a continuous or ongoing action up to a certain point in the future. It is necessary to add will have been to the present participle of the verb (verb w/ -ing) to complete a sentence with a future perfect progressive tense. Examples: Indefinite Point in the Future Definite Point in the Future You will have been deciding to purchase a lot by the time your children grow-up. He will have been living in the countryside when we go back to the Philippines. At this time, the real estate agent will have been waiting for 3 hours. By the end of 2015, I will have been staying in my new house for two years.
