BIRDSALL BOOKBINDING COLLECTIONS The residue of the archive of Birdsall & Son, the Northampton firm of bookbinders and one of the major bookbinding firms in Britain during the 19th and 20th centuries, supplementing photographs from the archive acquired by the library in 1982; it consists mainly of illustrated cuttings, rubbings, photographs of historical bindings, and material on the history of the firm.
