2 SOFTBALL VICTORIA Softball Victoria welcomes our Member Associations, their teams, team management, umpires, statisticians and supporters to the Victorian Open Women s and Open Men s Softball Championships being hosted by Geelong Softball Association Winning the trophy of the best Softball Association in the State is important. Equally important is the renewal of friendships and rivalries that are shared at these senior championships. Playing with and against long time Softball friends is always a highlight. May all participants wear their uniforms with pride and have a fun time over a weekend of playing our great game. We encourage all at the tournament to support our Blues as you would support your teams. All umps, young and old, are on the park working just as hard as the athletes and coaches to get it right so let s give them a hand and show them our gratitude for what they give to Softball. To the President of Geelong, Janine Jewell and her team, thank you for hosting this event. Thank you also for organising the volunteers who will be hard at work on the diamonds, at the canteen, gathering results, scheduling games and the myriad of other tasks that means all who participate in these championships have a good time. Good luck to all participants for the weekend. Jenny Holliday President Softball Victoria GEELONG SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION On behalf of the Geelong Softball Association I would like to welcome all players, officials, umpires and spectators to Stead Park, Geelong for the 2015 Open Men s and Women s Championships. I would like to thank the Geelong Committee, especially Greg Christie, Carolyn Christie, Chris McManus, David Addlem, Ruth Addlem, Debbie Brackley, Mandy Beattie and Stacey Birch for organising the event this weekend. Also the Grounds Manager Tom Davies and Mal Davies, who has worked tirelessly in getting all the diamonds prepared for the tournament and Lorraine Davies and Leanne Linehan who has organised the canteen and helpers. Good luck to all the participating teams, we hope to see some fantastic games of softball played this weekend. I hope you all have an enjoyable and successful weekend for your Associations Janine Jewell President Geelong Softball Association
