BREWER S REZONED FROM R-B RESDENTAL TO R-C RESDENTAL BE T ORDANED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CTY OF OXFORD, MSSSSPP: WHEREAS, on August 14, 1995, the Oxford Planning Commission, in accordance with public notice, held a public hearing at the request of James M. Brewer to rezone the following described property from R-B Residential to R-C Residential zone: A parcel of land situated in Section 21, Township 8 South, Range 3 West, City of Oxford, Lafayette County, Mississippi, more particularly described as follows: starting at the point of intersection of the north right-of-way line of Jackson Avenue and the east section line of Section 21, Township 8 South, Range 3 West, run thence westerly along said north right-of-way line a distance of 80.0 feet to a point, said point being the PONT OF BEGNNNG of this description: run thence North 4 00' East a distance of feet to a point; run thence North 76 31' West a distance of feet to a pointr run thence South 4 41' West a distance of feet to a point on the north right-of-way line of Jackson Avenue; run thence South 76 31' East a distance of feet to the point of beginning of this description. This description prepared for zoning purposes only. After hearing statements of the Petitioner, and considering the Petition and information presented, including objections thereto, if any, the Oxford Planning Commission determined to recommend to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen that the property described above be rezoned from R-B to R-C as requested; and, Mayor and WHEREAS, at the regular August 15, 1995, meeting of the and Board of Aldermen, the Petition of James M. Brewer the recommendations of the Oxford Planning Commission to rezone the above described property from R-B to R-C together with supporting documents was presented; and, WHEREAS, such change in the zoning of said property is
2 reasonably necessary to the promotion of the public health, safety, and general welfare and the maintenance of sound, stable and desirable development within the territorial limits of the City of Oxford, Mississippi. NOW, THEREFORE, BE T ORDANED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CTY OF OXFORD, MSSSSPP, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Official Zoning Map for the City of Oxford, Mississippi, 1971, be, and it is hereby amended by changing the zoning classification of the above described property from R-B to R-C zone. Section 2. That the above change shall be made upon the official zoning map promptly, and the following entry shall be placed thereon "By Official Action of the Board of Aldermen, This Map Was Amended as Authorized by Ordinance as Listed Below: Ordinance Number; Date; From; To; City Clerk's Signature; and Mayor's Signature". Section 3. That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, shall be, and the same are hereby repealed. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the time required by the MississipEi Code of 1972, as amended, provided, however, that such change or amendment made by this ordinance shall not become effective until such has been duly entered upon the Official Zoning Map of the City of Oxford, Mississippi, The above Ordinance having been first reduced to writing and considered at a public meeting of the governing authorities of the City of Oxford, Mississippi, on motion of Alderman ~~~~~~~~~~~, seconded by and the roll being called, the same was adopted by the following vote:
