2 Mission Statement The mission of the Scott County Community Development Agency (CDA) is to strengthen the communities of Scott County by providing affordable housing opportunities to low and moderate income families, promoting economic development, and fostering coordination of public and private resources.

29 Scott County Participants It was helpful to have someone to meet with in person to discuss something so stressful. We needed a liaison that could help us and this service was ideal. Knowledge is power. This is helpful because in a foreclosure situation, it s easy to feel powerless. Why I would recommend her is simple: she was knowledgeable, humane and precise. A worthy ally.

30 Homebuyer Education & Counseling 16 hour Homebuyer Education course that prepares attendants to be successful homeowners Since 2011, 134 households have completed the course and of those, 62 have been known to purchase and 54 have received a Homebuyers Club Grant for down payment assistance Began providing one-on-one homebuyer counseling in 2014

34 Scott County CDA Participants I believe this class should be required. It was very helpful, informative, and gets you excited to be a successful homeowner. Everything was perfect. Thank you for this class and opportunity. This class was very informational all around, every activity, every speaker, and all others attending the class were helpful to one another in some way. I [now] have an idea of how to maintain and fix small appliance[s], like toilet leaking, etc. without costing me a lot of money for maintenance. [I] originally thought the class would not be that beneficial and [I] needed the grant money. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it, found it to be very beneficial. The guest speakers were so informative. [The instructor] was great!! Kind, bubbly personality and very helpful and patient.
