Upon receiving a copy of the recorded notice, "Notice of Intent to Remove Delinquent Special Tax Installment from the Tax Roll", the Tax Collection Division of the Department of Finance will remove the identified delinquent levies from the delinquent secured tax bills. Effective with Fiscal Year , the County does not purchase the district's delinquent direct levies on federal, state, and local agency-owned parcels. Under the Teeter plan, the County of Sacramento has the option to purchase all delinquent levies annually. If the County decides to purchase the delinquent levies, the districts will receive the apportionment for the delinquent purchases in October. If the county does not purchase the district's delinquent levies, the district will receive the apportionment for the delinquency upon payment from the taxpayers. Taxpayers have the option to pay the redemption account in full or in installments. Collection of the levy may take up to nine or more years if a tax sale is necessary. If the property is sold at a tax sale, the sale amount may be for less than the tax bill amount, in which case the district's delinquent levies amount will not be fully recovered. Source: TAXR of 7
