1 INSTRUCTIONS Inspect the property using the following inspection information and inspection photos. Record your observations in the RAPID software. Pay attention to the inspectable area and the number of deficiencies per photo; this will assist you in recording the correct number of deficiencies in the proper location. Inspectable items that do not have identified defects should be appropriately marked within the inspection software. That is, check either NOD or N/A as appropriate for inspectable items that are commonly found at the property and that are not specifically cited by the information that follows. For example, typically, it would be inappropriate to check N/A for unit water heaters. A photo is required for all L3 and H&S defects. While talking with Mr. Williams about the inspection you find out that the previous Site Manager, Lesley Martin, has been moved to another location and Jennifer Lancaster has replaced her. Mrs. Lancaster works for Property Management Inc. and her participant information is the same as the properties. Main Street Apartments has no boilers, sprinkler systems, fire alarms, or elevators. However, you observed that the property was originally constructed in When asked, Mrs. Lancaster, states that she does not have the lead-based paint inspection report. Also, you select and check 4 resident files for the lead-based paint disclosure form. You find that 3 of the 4 files have a signed form. This property consists of two semi-detached buildings and 4 units found on one site: The first building is a single story semi-detached building and is named A. It is located at 1313 Main Street, Buffalo, NY, The units are numbered 1 and 2 and are both 1-bedroom units. The second building is also a single story semi-detached building and is named B. It is located at 1315 Main Street, Buffalo, NY, The units are numbered 3 and 4 and both are 2-bedroom units. When asked, Mr. Williams states that there are no vacant units or bed bugs on this property. The front porch is the only common area found on each semi-detached building. Revised

This output file will be used for grading your exercise. 1. Select Inspection ID Click the Upload button. This will put a RAPID output file on your computer s desktop 3. Return to the Online Training 4. Open Exercise Use the arrow buttons to go to the last screen in the exercise then click the Upload Rapid Output button 6. 16 The Exercises are used to assess your knowledge of the UPCS Inspection protocol in addition with familiarizing you with using the RAPID software. You will need a score of at least 75% to pass. You will not be permitted to move on to the next exercise without first passing the previous one. If you are unable to pass one of the exercises, you will have to retake it. In RAPID you must delete the inspection and re-download it in order to retake the exercise. See the following instructions. In RAPID, do the following: 1. Click the Delete button on the top menu, it will display a screen with all the Inspections you can delete 2. Check or select the Inspection ID(s) to be deleted 3. The Delete Inspection button on the bottom of the screen will be enabled 4. Click the Delete Inspection button Page 14 of 14
