3 3 ADJUDICATOR Claire Lyon Claire is an Australian actress, singer and recording artist, best known for her portrayal of Christine Daaé in the world tour of "The Phantom of the Opera". She has toured with American superstar Josh Groban as his guest artist for his World Tour "Stages", and regularly performs alongside some of Australia's best known artists in both productions and in concert. Recently, Claire sang the Australian National Anthem at the M.C.G for the State of Origin to a crowd of over 90,000. She has been a soloist with Sydney Symphony, the Australian National Boys Choir, and has been featured several times in concert with maestro Bernard Walz as part of the Sydney Town Hall "Good Old Days" concerts. Claire has been a principal artist with Opera Australia, performing numerous roles at the Sydney Opera House and State Theatre, Melbourne, including Hope Harcourt (Anything Goes), Barbarina (The Marriage of Figaro), Ida (Die Fledermaus) as well as numerous operatic productions as a soprano chorister earlier in her career. Other starring roles include Mabel in "The Pirates of Penzance" (The Production Company), Claire in "Jerry's Girls" (The Production Company) and Josephine in "H.M.S Pinafore" (Melbourne Opera Company). Australian national tours include "My Fair Lady" (Opera Australia) and "Love Never Dies" (Really Useful Group). She is also a Green Room Award and Helpmann Award nominee and holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from the V.C.A. In 2013, Claire released her debut solo album "Claire Lyon - On Stage", featuring some of Broadway and Hollywood's greatest hits. Competitors should note that The National Eisteddfod withholds the right to cancel, move, combine or alter the competition at any time including altering nominated prizes. The National Eisteddfod dictates the time of each Section and the order in which competitors sing. It is the responsibility of the competitor to read and understand the definitions and rules set out one National Eisteddfod website.
