1 State Committees August 1, 2015-July 31, 2016 Committees are the backbone of ACEC New York, through which much of the work gets done work that affects all aspects of the engineering profession, from legislative advocacy to environmental issues. They offer more than a significant opportunity to impact the professional environment: Committee work is often highly educational and interactive. Members share information that can improve their business practices and help make their firms more profitable and successful. Committee involvement is a great way to get to know people throughout the entire organization -- and to give something back to the profession as a whole. As you can see on the following pages, there is an ACEC New York committee for virtually every interest, and each one is important.
