2 Supporting organisations The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) is an international not-for-profit industry association dedicated to the advancement of intelligent home and intelligent building technologies. The organization is supported by an international membership of nearly 400 companies involved in the design, manufacture, installation and retailing of products relating to home automation and building automation. Public organizations, including utilities and government are also members. CABA's mandate includes providing its members with networking and market research opportunities. CABA also encourages the development of industry standards and protocols, and leads cross-industry initiatives. Japan Prestressed Concrete Association (JPCEA) was established in 1958 with support from Japan Society of Civil Engineers, Architectural Institute of Japan, and Japanese Society of Irrigation Drainage and Reclamation. On 1st April, 2012, the title was updated as Japan Prestressed Concrete Institution (JPCI) in accordance to the new Japanese law for corporate juridical person. JPCI aims to spread and promote prestressed concrete technology, improve the capability of members and contribute to the development and safety of the society. Organisers: International Federation for High-rise Structure (IFHS) is a non profit, non Governmental Association established in IFHS belongs to all its active individual members who are Architects, Design Engineers, Contractors, Researchers, Educationalists, Clients, Financiers, banking Institutions and University Faculties. The major activities of are to generate new knowledge through research and assemble all other available information on high-rise structure and develop means to disseminate them to all concerned; and to sponsor and organize international conferences and workshops on High-rise structures and their problems at proper places and times to help generate interest and present innovative ideas and methods. CI-Premier Pte Ltd was established in Singapore in 1975, with the inaugural "Our World in Concrete" Conference where world renown Prof T Y Lin was the keynote speaker. The company is committed towards the development of civil engineering education and technology, and had organised more than 200 conferences, seminars and workshops in 20 cities worldwide, including Singapore, Beijing, Fuzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Lisbon, Melbourne, Milan, Nottingham (UK), Nicosia, Venice and Yantai. All papers presented at our conferences are published in proceedings bearing ISBN numbers.

Today, structures compete to dwarf anything that has come before. Records are broken, design and technical boundaries are challenged; and new concepts on liveability and sustainability have also emerged in the race for space. Plans beyond imagination are on the drawing board for projects so huge not only in scale but in their implications for society. Some examples include 'Tunnelling under the Alps', 'Bridging the Bering Strait', 'Widening the Panama Canal', Hong Kong- Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the 'Burj Khalifa and the Shanghai Tower. Soon, we will be constructing beyond heights of 1000m, very long span bridges, very deep underground tunnels under the sea and structures in previously inhabitable spaces. We welcome research and case studies on these and many more exciting Tanjong Pagar Centre, 290m, Singapore projects. We welcome researchers, architects, planners, builders, Glass observation deck on top of Guoco Tower in the integrated Tanjong Pagar Centre.
