Mr. BREMNER, who was born at Wick, was connected with journalism from an early age. He possessed considerable scientific and mechanical knowledge, and was the author of a successful and popular work on the "Industries of Scotland." He was an active member of the Caithness colony in London, and vice-president of the society formed by those Londoners who belonged to his native county. He was also one of the founders and earliest promoters of the Institute of Journalists, of which body he was at one time auditor. At the time of his death, he was chief sub-editor of the "St. James's Gazette."
