C1-9 Mr. Michael Avis, Chair, Outreach and Marketing Sub-Committee, provided a verbal advisory on the subject event, which included: Thanks to Board Member volunteers Details on new groups that participated this year The event was likely the best attended to date Concerns that information developed about the recent loss of heritage buildings could not be shared with the public The management at Bramalea City Centre indicated that they enjoy having this event that the centre Board discussion on this matter included: Re-configuration of the lay-out to attract more people to the displays Possibility of holding the event on a smaller scale at other times throughout the year Possibility of holding the event during the Grand Re-Opening of the Bramalea City Centre Media coverage of the event on Rogers Cable TV HB020-2010 That the verbal advisory from Mr. Michael Avis, Chair, Outreach and Marketing Sub-Committee, to the Meeting of February 23, 2010, re: Highlight on Heritage Saturday, February 13, 2010 Bramalea City Centre (File G33) be received. Awards Sub-Committee On behalf of Mr. David Moote, Chair, Awards Sub-Committee, Mr. Paul Willoughby, Co-Chair, provided the following: The sub-committee is working on two nominations for awards under the Ontario Heritage Trust s Heritage Community Recognition Program The two proposed nominees are Ms. Dale O Hara and Habitat for Humanity The sub-committee is ready to submit the nomination for Ms. O Hara and is requesting consideration of a motion for this purpose The nomination of Habitat for Humanity will be brought forward for consideration at a future Board Meeting. 2010 02 23 Page 9 of 17

(agent for the owners) Mr. Phillip Carter, Architect and Planner Mr. Paul Oberst, Architect Board consideration of this matter included: Confirmation from Mr. Carter that he provided the first-hand comments outlined in the Heritage Impact Statement Details from Mr. Carter and Mr. Oberst with respect to the reasons for the proposal in the Heritage Impact Statement that the existing house be demolished and a replacement dwelling be constructed Confirmation that the subject house is neither designated under the Ontario Heritage Act nor listed on the City s Register of Cultural Heritage Resources Questions about the preservation of the trees on the property, and an indication from Mr. Carter and Mr. Callaghan that efforts will be made to preserve as many of the trees as possible Review of the information and recommendation outlined in the staff comments HB022-2010 1. That the Heritage Impact Statement prepared by Mr. Phillip H.
