The Courtyard The Courtyard is an ideally situated student residence as it is located on the university campus and is only a 7 minute walk from ONCAMPUS Hull and the library. The city centre is only 15-20 minutes away by bus if you would like to make a visit to the large shopping centre, wander through the streets of the old town or maybe to admire the views of the Humber bridge from the Marina. The Courtyard is perfectly suited to students looking for modern accommodation with a luxurious feel in an ideal location for their studies. Luxury Rooftop Apartment Luxury Rooftop Apartment The most luxurious option for students staying at the Courtyard are the Rooftop apartments. These apartments have a light and modern interior with ample storage, a study desk and as outdoor living space with fantastic campus views. The Courtyard Standard Ensuite The standard ensuite rooms at The Courtyard may not be as large as the rooftop apartments but they can still offer a modern interior and excellent storage solutions with under bed storage, shelving and a good size single wardrobe in addition to the study desk and office chair included in the room. The standard ensuite rooms can offer everything a student needs with access to the other fantastic facilities available at The Courtyard. Standard shared kitchen Catering The Courtyard is a selfcatering only residence. A large kitchen and dining space is shared between 8 students and includes the following: Two cookers Microwave Kettle Toaster Standard Ensuite sleeping area Masterchef style kitchen Luxury Dining If that wasn t enough, students will also have access to a Masterchef style kitchen to cook meals for friends. Thwaite Hall Thwaite Hall is a picturesque 18th century country house set in over 24 acres of grounds which includes a large lake, pretty meadows and a woodland area which provides a peaceful setting to study and relax with stunning views. The interior of Thwaite Hall is just as attractive with an oak beamed library, full of history and character. There is also a large dining hall, 5 common rooms and a music room complete with a Steinway grand piano. Getting to the Campus Thwaite Hall is only a 10 minute bus ride to ONCAMPUS Rooms at Thwaite Hall Students at Thwaite Hall will stay in a single room with a shared bathroom. The Lawns The Lawns is built in 40 acres of landscaped parkland and is actually made up of seven separate halls (Downs, Ferens, Grant, Lambert, Morgan, Reckitt and Nicholson Halls, plus the Lawns Bungalows) which together are home to almost 1,000 students At the heart of The Lawns you ll find the Lawns Centre, our social hub. Having recently undergone a 2.5 million refurbishment programme, and is the ideal place to meet friends, grab a bite to eat. How to apply 1 Choose your preferred accommodation 2 Read and sign the terms and conditions included in this guide 3 Complete the accommodation application form and send to us at liveinhull@oncampus.global 4 room offer 5 Sign your room offer and return to us with your initial payment as detailed in your accommodation offer letter. 6 We will reserve your room and send you a 7 date so we can book your airport pickup 8 Arrive in the UK and collect your keys! ONCAMPUS HULL ACCOMMODATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1) Payment of fees for accommodation i) Acceptance of an ONCAMPUS offer by payment of the minimum stated deposit constitutes a binding contract between the student and ONCAMPUS. ii) A signed copy of these terms and conditions, your accommodation deposit and an advanced rent instalment are required in order to reserve your room booking. Your your accommodation booking from us. Please note that the damages deposit for accommodation is used solely for damages or expenses incurred during your stay and is entirely separate to the deposit that you have paid to secure your placement with ONCAMPUS as mentioned in point (i) above. iii) The accommodation fees can be paid by termly instalments at the applicable termly rate. Termly payments must be made at least 2 weeks before the start of the relevant term. iv) The provision of accommodation is dependent upon the course fees for the relevant term being paid in full. If payment of the relevant term s course and/or day of term, ONCAMPUS reserves the right to suspend or cancel tuition and/or accommodation. The student may be prevented from sitting examinations or the results of examinations and/or references or other information may be withheld where course and/or accommodation fees remain unpaid in whole or in part. v) The rental period for each term shall commence on room contracts can sometimes be arranged; requests for extensions should be made in writing to the livein email and are charged at a weekly rate. vii) No discount shall be given for late arrivals. 2) Refund policy i) If cancellation is due to visa refusal through no fault of your own, then the normal ONCAMPUS refund policy will apply. ii) If a student wishes to cancel their accommodation they must do so in writing, by email to liveinhull@oncampus. global iii) No refund will be issued if the student is withdrawn or excluded from ONCAMPUS for any reason iv) If you would like to cancel the booking, you must tell us in writing up to six weeks before the start of term to receive a full refund. v) If you cancel your booking within 6 weeks of the start of term you will be charged one full term of accommodation fees. vi) If the cancellation of accommodation is made after the student has arrived, the student will be liable for all accommodation fees for the full tenancy period, except in the event that ON alternative tenant. 3) Accommodation, Penalties and Fines i) While ONCAMPUS will use its reasonable endeavours to provide a student with the accommodation requested on the application form, their preference is not guaranteed and ii) The student may at any time be asked to change accommodation where this is due to misbehaviour, the negligence, act or omission thereof of the student. Any additional supplement shall become immediately payable. iii) From time to time ONCAMPUS may need to inspect its residential premises. Whenever possible, reasonable notice will be given of such visits but ONCAMPUS reserves the right to conduct unannounced checks of accommodation, including student bedrooms. iv) The student is liable for any breakages, loss or damage caused by the student to the premises in which the student is living. v) Breakages, loss or damage in shared rooms or communal living areas are considered the joint responsibility of the students in occupation, and will be recovered as such, unless an individual student accepts responsibility for such damage caused. vi) ON other forms of misconduct such as contravening health & safety regulations. 4) Refund of deposits The initial deposit cannot be used by the student to pay for accommodation or cover shortfall in fees. The deposit that is required by ON account has been settled in full, around 3 months after the end of the student s course of studies. Only once a student s account has been fully settled will any remaining deposit funds be returned to the student or person responsible for paying the fees, as applicable.
