Successful companies in Silicon Valley develop platforms that change how the world works. This new urban campus, located near Diridon Station in downtown San Jose, is a platform for those companies to thrive. With access to the best of the Bay Area s regional transit, housing options, urban lifestyle and workspace design, this is where today s talent wants to be.
latform 16 is a 1,078,000 square foot, 3 building campus on a full city block along the Guadalupe River ark. The 16 outdoor terraces, integrated with every level of the buildings, provide unobstructed views out and allow daylight in to the building courtyards and interiors of the large open floor plates. The articulation of the building façades different geometries, materials and colors creates a dynamic architectural presence.
URBAN CAMUS Designed by New York-based architectural firm, KF, this new urban campus is the first of its kind in San Jose, providing companies the ultimate platform for recruiting and retaining the best talent in the marketplace.
The corner of the South Building at the intersection of West Julian and North Autumn Streets marks the front door of the campus, with a pedestrian plaza and café opening to the street and cascading landscaped terraces above.
The arrival between the North and Central Buildings creates both an auto drop off from Autumn arkway, as well as a dynamic urban space with lobby entries on either side. An open bridge overhead connects the buildings at the third level, an ideal space for social gatherings and corporate events.
Full height faceted windows angle both left and right, refracting the light and creating a textured facade that changes with the time of day. Metal accents recess in the façades, providing warm, welcoming spaces at street level and on upper terraces.
Spacious lobbies are designed into the entries of all 3 buildings and can be connected along the north-south spine to create a continuous space for tenants to welcome guests and find informal places to meet and work in a hospitality-style setting.
Accessed by the entry off West Julian Street and the inside courtyard, the South Building is able to house on-site amenities with a conference center and café on the ground floor, and a full floor fitness area and wellness center above on the second level.
Indoor and outdoor workspaces connect seamlessly at all levels, taking advantage of San Jose s outdoor beauty and pleasant year-round climate to boost tenants wellbeing. Occupants on every floor have access to a private outdoor terrace.
Generous 15-foot floor heights can be combined to create dramatic common areas and open stairway connections between floors. Large floor plates give tenants the flexibility to design open workspaces and casual gathering areas to encourage collaboration.
Sixteen landscaped terraces provide outdoor rooms with seating and workspaces, as well as sweeping views to the Guadalupe River ark and downtown San Jose. These platforms can be named and programmed by tenants for different uses and experiences.
Landscaping along Autumn arkway extends across the street, enhancing the stretch of Guadalupe arkway facing the campus. Tenants have immediate access to miles of trails for commuting by bike, a mid-day stroll, or a run after work.
