REPORT: 1. PURPOSE 1. The purpose of this report is to provide information on the following development activities from October 1,2010 to December 31,2010: Regional Official Plan amendment applications; Commissioner's actions on behalf of Council on the approval of Area Municipal official plan amendments, plans of subdivision & condominium, and part-lot control exemption by-laws; Regional review of planning applications; Appeals to the'ontario Municipal Board; and Resewed street names.

Report No.: 2011-P-6 Page No. 2 As of December 31, 2010, there were a total of 12 Regional Official Plan Amendment applications under consideration by the Planning Department. Details of the applications are described in Attachment No. 1. No new Regional Official Plan Amendment applications were received or approved in the fourth quarter of 2010. 3. COMMSSONER'S ACTONS ON BEHALF OF COUNCL The Commissioner of Planning exercises Council's approval authority for Area Municipal official plan amendments, plans of subdivision, plans of condominium, and part-lot control exemption by-laws in non-delegated municipalities (i.e'. the Townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge). No approvals were granted by the Commissioner of Planning in the fourth quarter of 2010. REGONAL REVEW OF PLANNNG APPLCATONS The Planning Department reviews planning applications submitted to the Area Municipalities for conformity with the Durham Regional Official Plan, other Regional policies, and Provincial plans and policies. On behalf of the Region, 'the Planning Department provides Regional comments to the eight Area Municipalities on: Area Municipal official plan amendment applications; Delegated plans of subdivision and condominium, and part-lot control exemption by-laws; and Zoning by-laws and rezoning applications.

Street names are reviewed by the Region in consultation with Durham Regional Police Services. Approved street names are included in a street name reserve list for each area municipality.
