BIRTHDAY PROCLAMATION Ted Huddleston (2 nd from right) celebrated his 80 th birthday on Jan. 24 at Buffalo Valley School with friends, including Sheriff David Andres and County Clerk Wayne Nabors, who honored Huddleston with a proclamation commending him for his service to the community. HISTORIC PLAQUE From left, Bud Alley of the MTSU Center for Historic Preservation presents a plaque to Carolyn and Ted Huddleston, while Char Wanser looks on. The Huddlestons were awarded the plaque on behalf of everyone who took part in interviews and research to get Buffalo Valley School building on the National Historic Register. The school opened in 1929, and was later turned into a community center. It now holds annual fundraisers, weddings, family reunions, the library s monthly birthday party for those with birthdays each month, and other social events. BUFFALO VALLEY JULY BIRTHDAYS 2010 The Buffalo Valley Library hosted an old fashioned picnic luncheon on July 14 to recognize local residents who celebrated a birthday in July. A free birthday luncheon is held the second Wednesday of each month at the library. Celebrating their birthdays this month were, from left, Evelyn Buck, Mary VanDeoenter, Char Wanser and Betty Collins. Those at the celebration enjoyed delicious food, including fried chicken from David Evans, watermelons from Michael Lane and a birthday cake from Pauline Vogel. AT BUFFALO VALLEY COMMUNITY CENTER OCTOBER BIRTHDAY PARTY 2010 Mike and Audrey J. (Denny) Lambert were invited to the Buffalo Valley October birthday party by Carolyn (Shanks) Huddleston. After an enjoyable lunch of (2) kinds of crockpot beans and several different kinds of cornbread and birthday cake we had a chance to talk to some of the local residents of Buffalo Valley and surrounding areas. I had met some of the people before and others were new acquaintances. Carolyn suggested that we have my husband Mike take a group photo the people attending the birthday party. The honored birthday people are Carol Bradford and Mike Huddleston seated in the first row, middle. Carol s husband Glen Bradford is standing behind her in the white shirt and black vest. Mike Huddleston is the son of Ted and Carolyn (Shanks) Huddleston.
