Now furnished as a less formal dining room, it would better serve, Lane suggested, as a den where one could enjoy the gorgeous view. Designed to showcase that view is that large lanai the width of the living area, with ample room for sitting, lounging and dining. e unusually angled, heated pool has a spa feature in the shallow end and a sitting ledge on all three sides of the deeper end. Poolside landscaping is lush and colorful (although not quite as colorful as the ginger and crotons in the front) and the poolside walk flows naturally into the wide steps down to the dock. e builders had a medical emergency and never really moved into the home, Lane explained, and the current owners were never in residence full time, thus the home is in pristine condition and a large, handsome fish fountain stands unconnected at the top of the dock steps, still waiting for a permanent home. After the resort-like canal side amenities, the bedrooms become an afterthought, although the master suite is indeed palatial, with a large, high-ceilinged and windowed sitting room, twin to the breakfast alcove, an even larger bedroom and a sliding door onto the lanai. e master bath (as the powder room) features a lovely, floating half-sphere of glass sink on a vanity of handsome glass tiles repeated in the party shower. e toilet is located in a true water closet with a full door and there is a generous, walk-in closet. Extra windows at ceiling level fill the master suite s extraordinary sitting room with light. An easily-overlooked hall off the grand entrance leads to a bedroom wing with two attractive guest or family bedrooms, one with twin closets, facing the front garden and a second full bath.
