Architectural Experience August 2009, Architecture Sans Frontiers, Cornwall Summer School Workshop One week expedition at the Eden project discussing food and the city. Designed, constructed and tested a series of edible walls which were made from recycled material. Networked with other professionals from a broad variety of disciplines, including Arup engineers & Foster and Partners. Final project was selected to be exhibited as a working prototype within the Eden project. March 2008 - September 2009, Ghana Project (Non-Government Organisation) Lead Designer Selected to design a community centre in Ghana and led a design team to complete the project. Arranged and conducted meetings between the client and design team, created a brief and developed plans and visualisations which responded to the climate, culture and context. Learned how to manage a project and make design changes in response to the client desires. March 2004, A. E. W Architect s (internship (f/t)) Architect s Assistant Shadowed various architects over the period of a week, used Auto CAD to create plans of the office and Photoshop for illustrating elevations. Bamboo Bicycle Manufacture Plant Third Year- Synchology Unit BA An Eco Transport Revolution I propose to create a Carbon Neutral, Self Regulating Bicycle Manufacturing Plant which designs, manufactures and tests bicycle frames constructed out of bamboo. The cycles will primarily be used to pioneer Manchester s first Closed Loop Cycle Hire system. The project aims to re-brand the city of Manchester as the Green Home of British Cycling and support the government s commitment to lowering Green House Emissions and stimulating economic growth. Bamboo Bicycle Manufacture Plant (Hand Crafted Construction Detailing) The project explores various bamboo construction methods and is resolved as a kit of prefabricated elements.
