ANNUAL ACTIVITY REPORT IIChE Mumbai Regional Centre (MRC) July 2016 to June 2017 1. MONTHLY MEETINGS OF EXECUTVE COMMITTEE 2. NETWORKING VISIT 2016 Date: 21 st August 2016, Venue: Shanti Sagar Resort, Ambernath The scenic beauty around the place and various water games were enjoyed by the MRC members. The Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Tea and Snacks were arranged at Resort.
3. INDUSTRIAL VISIT 2016 to M/S. HIKAL INDUSTRIES Date: 12 th October 2016, Venue: Hikal Chemical Industries Limited 4. INDIACHEM 2016 IIChE MRC organized, BlastCarbo FICCI IndiaChem 2016 poster presentation competition for Undergraduate and Post graduate students of various student chapters located within Mumbai Regional Centre during 9th International Exhibition & Conference organized by FICCI held during 1st-2nd-3rd September, 2016, at Mumbai Exhibition Centre Goregaon Mumbai. The topics selected for the Poster presentation competition were: Swachh Bharat, Make in India & Smart City.
5. IIChE MRC Members - Meeting with Governor of Maharashtra 6. ChEMERGENCE 2016 TSEC Student Chapter of IIChE MRC 7. Outstanding Young Chemical Engineer (OYCE) 2017 During 13th Outstanding Young Chemical Engineer s contest, in all 18 entries were received for the contest divided into 2 categories as Undergraduate students (9 entries) and Graduates comprising of Professionals working in the industry as well as Post graduate students pursuing research (9 entries). The participation in the UG category comprised of students from Maharashtra Academy of Engineering, Maharashtra Institute of Technology, D J Sangavi College of Engineering, Datta Meghe College of Engineering, Gharda Institute of Technology, Institute of Chemical Technology etc. whereas participants in Post Graduate category were from Toyo Pvt. Ltd, M/s P Mech Consultants, Gharda Institute of Technology, IIT Bombay and Institute of Chemical Technology.13 th Outstanding Young Chemical Engineer s 2017, Venue: Institute of Chemical Technology, Date: 25 th March 2017, Post-Graduate Prize Awards Sponsor - Thyssenkrupp, Undergraduate Prize Awards Sponsor - Blast Carboblocks.
8. N R Kamath Chemical Quiz 2017 Venue: Datta Meghe College of Engineering, Airoli, Navi Mumbai. 9. Seminar: Water Conservation, Recycling and Desalination Seminar titled "Water: Conservation, Recycling and Desalination", was jointly organised by Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Mumbai Regional Centre (IIChE-MRC) & Indian Desalination Association (InDA) on the 4 th February 2017 at ICT, Matunga, Mumbai. The seminar was attended by dignitaries like Prof. P. Dey (President, IIChE), Dr. P.K. Tiwari (President, InDA), Prof. G.D. Yadav (Vice Chancellor, ICT Mumbai), Dr. Sanjeev Katti (Sr. Vice President, RIL). Dr. Sandra Shroff (Vice President, UPL) was the chief guest for the event.
10. Interaction Meet between Members of National Council, IIChE MRC, Industrial and Academic Delegates Date: 6 May 2017, Venue: RCF Guest House, Chembur, Mumbai The agenda for the meeting included the following: Interaction between visiting National Council with EC-MRC Understand from the interactions with Industry the role they expect IIChE to play.
