HOUSE RULES FOR CHRISTIAN X KOLLEGIET Article 1 General All residents are responsible for maintaining order at the hall of residence and all residents must comply with the instructions given by the owner, the administration of the hall of residence, kollegierådet or any other persons acting on their behalf. Subsection 2. These instructions also apply to visitors at the hall of residence and residents are at all times responsible for the behaviour of their guests. Article 2 Order All residents must handle the effects belonging to the hall of residence with care and assist in ensuring that nothing is removed from the hall of residence. Subsection 2. All residents must comply with the existing rules concerning the use of common rooms and at any time ensure that the common rooms are kept in good order. This includes cleaning. Cleaning of staircases, corridors and common areas, is compulsory for all residents as part of the tenancy. Cleaning of staircases and corridors is compulsory for all residents as part of the tenancy. Subsection 3. Driving of motor vehicles is not allowed on the grass areas. This includes during moving. Subsection 4. Satellite dishes and antennas are only allowed to be put up with a written agreement from the hall of residence s administration. Subsection 5. For rules regarding the use of the common room, see appendix 1. Subsection 6. For rules regarding the use of the exercise room, see appendix 2. Article 3 Liability From the moment a resident receives the key to the room and until it is returned to the caretaker, the resident alone is responsible for the room and its furnishings. The resident is therefore liable to compensate any damage not owing to fair wear and tear. Subsection 2. If a resident does not wish to be held liable for defects, damage or wear of the room or its furnishings that he/she finds, he/she must inform the caretaker of the problems within 14 days after moving in. Subsection 3. The hall of residence assumes no responsibility for the residents or their personal belongings. Article 4 Noise All residents must voluntarily and of their own accord submit to the conditions of living in a hall of residence. In particular, the fellow residents right to quiet for studying or for sleeping during the night must be respected, especially when private gatherings are organised. Subsection 2. From Sunday till Thursday flats must be quiet after 11 pm. This includes loud music, drilling and all other types of noise. Subsection 3. On Fridays and Saturdays flats must be quiet by 2 am. Subsection 4. For rules regarding the use of the common room, see appendix 1. Article 5 Smoking It has been jointly decided that all common areas at the hall of residence are no smoking -areas. Therefore, smoking is not allowed in the common room or any other common areas. Subsection 2. Smoking is allowed in residents rooms. Pets are not allowed at the hall of residence. Article 6 Pets Article 7 Internet and intranet access For rules on internet and intranet access, see the hall of residence s home page. Article 8 Laundry room As long as residents living above the laundry room are taken into consideration, the laundry can be used at all hours. Subsection 2. The clotheslines in the drying room are for all residents to use.

Subsection 3. Drying stand are allowed in the drying room, but show consideration for other residents. Article 9 Cellar The hall of residence is not responsible for any effects stored in the cellar. Subsection 2. Storing of personal effects in the cellar is done at own risk, and it is recommended that nothing of value is stored there. Article 10 Bicycle sheds The bicycle sheds are for all residents to use. Subsection 2. Bikes are to be put in the sheds and not outside. Subsection 3. It is recommended that residents store only 1 bike per person, if possible. Article 11 Fire safety Due to fire safety, effects able to block the hallways, such as bikes, drying stands etc, are not allowed there, neither in indoor or outdoor corridors. Anything blocking hallways can be removed without warning. Subsection 2. Bikes are not allowed to be placed by the stairways. These, or any other bike blocking or distracting the fire escape routes and exits, can be removed without warning. Article 12 Moving out When moving out, the room will be inspected and all of the residence s supplied furnishings must be present. Subsection 2. The tenant must be moved out at least 7 workdays before the 1 st of the month. On the day of the move the tenant must have the flat cleaned and the keys handed over by 9 am. Cleaning includes bathroom and sanitary installations. Subsection 3. In case of dissatisfactory cleaning, the housing association will hire a cleaning company to clean the room to the necessary extent, at the terminated tenant s expense. 13 Violations In case of breach of the house rules, the person in question can be given a warning by kollegierådet or by the administration of the hall of residence. Subsection 2. In the event of serious or repeated violation of the house rules, the administration of the hall of residence may, after getting a statement from kollegierådet, terminate the contract of the person in question without any notice. Subsection 3. Any case concerning violation of the house rules is treated according to the existing rules and regulations. Subsection 4. Theft from anywhere at the hall of residence may lead to police prosecution and termination of the lease.

APPENDIX 1 USE OF THE COMMON ROOM AND COMMON AREAS AT CHRISTIAN X S KOLLEGIET 1. General Order 1.1. When leaving the common room it must be left in the same condition (or better), as was the case when you arrived. 1.2. Newspapers, magazines and other effects belonging to the common room must not be removed. 2. Music and Noise 2.1. On workdays the common room must be quiet at 11 pm. 2.2. You are welcome to stay in the common room after 11 pm., but you must show consideration to the residents living above the common room, and other residents in general, by turning down the volume of music, video etc. 2.3. During exam-periods, e.g. December/January and May/June, the hall of residence must be quiet by 11 pm on all days, except for the Friday Bar. 3. Private Parties 3.1 The common room can be hired out to residents for private parties at the hall of residence by request to the bar committee. The hirer has the right of use, and may deny other residents access to the common room. 3.2 A member of the bar committee or of the board of the bar must be present when the bar is hired out to private parties. 3.3 After 2 am at private parties music volume must be turned down to a level where it does not bother other residents. 3.4 Private events must be announced at least 4 days prior to the event. If it is not, the common room must be quiet at 11 pm. 3.5 During the party windows and doors must be kept closed, and the party must take place indoors. 3.6 For further rules regarding private parties please view the lease. 4. Private gatherings without hiring the common room 4.1. The common room may be used by all residents at times where the hall of residence does not have rights of use or it has been hired by one of the residents. 4.2. If you want to use the common room one day, you can e.g. stick a notice on the entrance door. You can possibly have the room to yourself in that way, but you cannot deny other residents access to the room. 4.3. All rules regarding noise, cleaning etc. apply here as well. 4.4. Eating is allowed in the common room. Once you have finished eating the common room must be cleaned. 5. The right of use of the hall of residence 5.1. Every Friday and Saturday after 9 pm, the hall of residence has the usufruct of the common room for parties and other things. 5.2. The hall of residence has the usufruct till 2 am. 5.3. Furthermore the hall of residence has the usufruct for a fancy-dress party, a spring party, a Midsummer s Eve party, a summer party, a Christmas party and a New Years Eve party. 5.4. The hall of residence has the usufruct on workdays as well, for football matches, film club, meetings, meetings of kollegierådet etc. For all arrangements on weekdays point 2 about noise applies. 5.5. The usufruct of the common room allows kollegierådet, the bar committee, the bar board and the bartenders to expel persons that are thought to be disturbing the peace.

5.6. If a person is repeatedly expelled from the bar, or is denied access completely, kollegierådet may uphold this decision. 5.7. You are at all times responsible for the behaviour of your guests. 5.8. At the Friday bar and parties at the hall of residence you are not allowed to bring your own drinks. Violation of this may lead to expulsion. 6. Cleaning up 6.1. Those responsible for hosting the gathering must have the are clean and tidy by 1 pm the following day. 7. Dispensation 7.1. Kollegierådet can grant an exemption of the above rules. 8. Suspension of the right of use 8.1. Kollegierådet can, if necessary, suspend the right of use of the common room. This will be done if the bar board does not obey the rules given for the use of the common room. Kollegierådet will in that case call in the bar manager and the board of the bar to a meeting in order to solve the problem. 8.2. Kollegierådet can also suspend the usufruct at private parties, if the rules given are not obeyed. 9. House Rules 9.1. The above rules are part of the house rules at Christian X s Kollegiet.

APPENDIX 2 USE OF THE GYM AT CHRISTIAN X S KOLLEGIET 1. Use of the gym 3.1 All use of the gym and its effects is at your own risk. 3.2 Users of the gym are at any time liable for any damage that does not owe to wear and tear. 4.
