EDUCATION University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Architecture, History of Architecture and Art and Liberal Arts 1973 2005 In September of 1972, Reiner attended The School of Architecture UIC. His first-year Studio Professor was Architect, Peter Roesch, a distinguished and accomplished designer and student of the famous Architect, Mies van der Rohe. Professor Roesch recognized Reiner s advanced architectural training and recommended that he leave UIC to start his Internship working full-time at a reputable architecture firm. In January of 1974, he began working full-time as an architectural draftsman while also attending night school. Reiner met all of the Illinois requirements and qualified for the extremely difficult Architect licensing exams in 1983, which had a fruition rate of only 7% per year. The aforementioned strict requirements are considered to be equivalent to a Masters Degree in Architecture by today s standards. Reiner passed all nine (9) - Sections all of the Illinois licensing exams the first-time through (taken in 2- parts and offered only one-time per year in June and September), which was a major accomplishment.
