PROJECT OVERVIEW South Shore Plaza is a premier retail and dining destination on Boston s affluent South Shore. This super-regional mall offers more than 1.5 million square feet of shopping and dining. The mall is 3 levels and contains more than 190 specialty stores. Anchored by Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Macy s, Sears, and Target as well as having 10 sit down restaurants, South Shore Plaza provides a premier shopping experience to all of its visitors. 3

HVAC RETAIL TENANTS This is a landlord supplied chilled water mall. Engineer is required to accommodate conditions that may affect the performance of the HVAC system for their store. Equipment Tenant to provide Chilled water fan coil with minimum 6-row cooling coils Condensate Drain Condensate to be piped to approved sanitary connection within space. Outside/Relief Air Provided by Landlord through the outside air system for first level tenants only. Tenants on upper level will be required to duct the outside air from the roof through a Tenant supplied gravity ventilator. Return Plenum (Ducted return is for odor producing Tenants only and subject to Landlord approval). Exhaust/Relief Tenants shall provide a transfer air opening above their ceiling in demising walls for smoke control per the base buildings. Toilet Exhaust Tenant shall use central toilet exhaust duct on lower level. On the upper level, Tenant shall discharge directly to the roof. Locate roof penetration a minimum of 10 feet from any existing outdoor air intakes or designated equipment locations. Odor, Thermal & Process Equipment Exhaust Size for application by Tenant. Temperature Controls Stand-alone digital electric/electronic control system by Tenant. Test & Balance Tenant shall employ a Landlord designated contractor to perform final testing and balancing. See Criteria Sheet MEP-1 for further information. 17
PLUMBING RETAIL TENANTS Water Redistributed by Landlord via overhead mains. Minimum 1 valved connection. Tenant supplied meter w/remote reader for large water users only. Waste 4 wye connection off Landlord main. Designated connection point within or adjacent to space. Vent Utilize existing connection or Tenant to install new. Grease Waste Where applicable, Tenant will provide individual grease interceptor to isolate greasy waste from Landlord s sanitary pipe. Natural Gas Low pressure gas is available from the utility for cooking use only at exterior meter bank in limited locations. Water heaters are not permitted to be gas. Toilet Rooms As required by code. Drinking Fountain Per code and ADA requirements. Service Sink As required by code. See Criteria Sheet MEP-1 for further information. 18
FIRE PROTECTION RETAIL TENANTS Fire Protection Landlord supplied bulk main for Tenant connection. Implementation Tenant shall directly employ the Landlord designated contractor to install and/or modify existing grid or utilize connection provided. Tenant Flow Switch Not permitted. Valve for Tenant Space Not permitted. See Criteria Sheet MEP-1 for further information. 19
ELECTRICAL RETAIL TENANTS Voltage 277/480, 3ph, 4-wire Landlord Equipment Tenant is a direct customer of the utility company. Bussed gutters are supplied for connection by Tenant. Power Tenant is a direct customer of the utility company. Landlord has supplied a conduit with pull string to the Tenant s space. Metering Verify meter requirements with the utility company. Tenant to supply disconnect, meter base and CT cabinet as required. Capacity TENANT MAXIMUM ALLOTMENT IS 20 WATTS PER SQUARE FOOT. Submit connected and demand electrical load data to support electric service size requested. Telephone 1 conduit with pull wire to designated connection point in central locations. Fire Alarm Interface with the building system is required for annunciation and notification. Tenant supplied smoke detectors, at units, as required by code. See Criteria Sheet MEP-1 for further information. 20

Metering Reuse existing or provide new per Landlord specification. Capacity FOOD COURT TENANT MAXIMUM ALLOTMENT IS 100 WATTS PER SQUARE FOOT. Submit connected and demand electrical load data to support electric service size requested. Telephone 3/4 conduit to designated connection point in central locations. Fire Alarm Connect hood extinguishing system to Landlord s Simplex 4100 system. Connection to system to be by Landlords designated vendor. Duct detectors to shut down RTU equipment and be annunciated within Tenant space. See Criteria Sheet MEP-1 for further information. 24
