DESCRIPTION Chy an Vre is thought to have been built in the mid 1800 s and then appears to have been extended from its original double fronted appearance to now provide spacious and very usable three double bedroomed (all en-suite) accommodation with a modern conservatory positioned to make the most of the astounding outlook. The views are some of the finest and most interesting anywhere in Cornwall as the cottage is facing almost due south over the unspoilt countryside between St Just and Land s End and even further to the south coast of the peninsula. To the west is open sea with the outlook extending all the way to the Isles of Scilly on a clear day with numerous lighthouses also being visible including Wolf Rock and Longships. To the far south the sea can also be glimpsed beyond the land with shipping

3 vessels moving in and out of the Land s End traffic separation zone transferring from the Atlantic Ocean to the English Channel and vice versa. To the east the view is framed by the high ground at Bartinney Downs and Carn Brea and there is added interest from planes coming and going from Land s End Airport. Inside the cottage much of the history is still on show including beamed ceilings, parquet flooring, a fireplace now with a woodburning stove and the kitchen also has an Aga. An initial reception hall has doors to the kitchen/breakfast room, a wc, utility and opening onto a short flight of stairs up to a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. This room also has its own Juliet balcony facing the views and has formerly been used for Bed & Breakfast as it is nicely set away from the rest of the accommodation. The kitchen has a period style range of units and the aforementioned Aga but also has plentiful space for freestanding furniture including a breakfast table. All of these factors combine with the first class outlook to make this an extremely desirable cottage indeed. LOCATION Chy an Vre is found above the head of the Cot Valley, one of the least disturbed and unspoilt hidden valleys in deepest west Cornwall. The valley descends down to a cove with a beach at low tide. The property is just inland from Cornwall s Atlantic Coast, a short distance from St Just-in-Penwith and north of Sennen Cove and Whitesand Bay which, in turn lie just to the north of Land s End. The views from here are outstanding taking in miles of countryside all the way to the sea to the south of the Land s End peninsula and more importantly to the south west out to the rugged coastline around Land s End, to Longships Lighthouse and on a clear day all the way to the Isles of Scilly. On the western side of the house is a gated courtyard with a path and granite chipped bed dotted with primroses and access is given from here around to the rear of the cottage. Below the patio is a good sized south facing lawned garden edged with ivy covered granite and random stone walls. Around the garden are many lovely planted beds and mature specimens as well as two apple trees. To one side is a summerhouse and to the other is a timber shed. The garden basks in its southerly aspect and enjoys the magnificent views.
