Based in Vancouver, Washington, the Convenience Group takes a different route when it comes to traditional branding, making sure that each of its 15 Minit Mart convenience stores has a unique look and offer. The company customizes its stores to reflect the charm and characteristics of the local neighborhood while retaining the unique design features of older buildings. Several of the stores were constructed in the 1970s, and the flat roofs, cinder blocks and dated nature of the buildings have kept them from meeting their full potential. For that reason, the company has significantly invested in full-scale remodels, beginning with Felida Store in 2013. The stores also emphasize the concept of being local whenever possible. Some stores are located near farms, so during the spring and summer months it s common to find local and fresh produce on display. Other locally made products sold at Minit Mart stores are dairy, honey and northwestern wines and craft beer selections. Each store is named according to the community where it s located. The rural Felida Store was remodeled and restored to its 1930s charm, complete with farming memorabilia and graduation photos from a local high school.
