CAMBOURNE VILLAGE COLLEGE: THE BRIEF/ SITE THE BRIEF: EXISTING SITE ACCESS AND SURFACE TREATMENTS Cambridgeshire County Council have identified the need for the provision of additional secondary school places in Cambourne. Atkins have been commissioned to provide a report to assess the feasibility of extending the existing five form (5FE) Cambourne Village College by two additional forms of entry. This will extend the capacity of the school to 1050 (7FE) and respond to the projected shortfall of school places in Cambourne Village. The school is accessed from Sheepfold Lane, an existing road which runs to the north of Cambourne Business Park. The site is currently bounded by open farmland to the North, South and West and by a public bridleway and tree belt marking the edge of Lower Cambourne and the Business Park to the East. Cambourne Village College was opened in September 2013 and is located on a former greenfield site to the west of Cambourne Village close to Lower Cambourne and the Cambourne Business Park.
