The Manor House Built of Ham stone with a stone slate roof and originally dating from the 15th Century, The Manor House is a fine Grade II* listed country house, which has retained many period features including stone mullioned and wrought iron casement windows,17th Century fireplaces, arched stone door cases, staircases, door panels and a wall painting depicting a portion of an angel. The house has four reception rooms spread along the south and west facing elevations, with tall windows allowing natural light to flood in and affording views over the gardens towards the surrounding countryside. To one side of the hall is the dining room, which has a fireplace and a further door leading through to the study, which has a door opening out to the garden. Beyond the entrance hall is the inner hall, with a staircase rising to the first floor, doors to the boot room and adjacent cloakroom and a further door leading to the drawing room and inter-connected sitting room. Both rooms look out over the garden and have stone fireplaces, with the one in the sitting room having a wood burning stove. Beyond the sitting room is a secondary staircase to the first floor and a door to the courtyard at the rear of the house. On the other side of the hall are the kitchen breakfast room and adjacent laundry room. The kitchen is a large, characterful room with a large open fireplace fitted with a range of wall and floor-mounted units, 4-ring electric hob, double oven Lacariche range and five gas ring hob. On the first floor is the galleried landing leading to the master and guest bedrooms, which both have en-suite bathrooms, two further double bedrooms and the family bathroom. Garden, Outbuildings & Grounds The Manor House is approached up a tree-lined drive to a gravelled parking area in front of the house. Gardens and grounds surround the house, with the formal garden lying on three sides consisting of lawns and herbaceous borders, with mature yew hedging and stone and brick walling providing privacy. To the north-west of the house is a stone and brick summerhouse and there is a garden store attached to Magnolia Cottage. Behind the house is a paved walled courtyard with a gate to the rear drive, which services the house, cottage and outbuildings.
