FIRST GENERATION 1. Lars Erick ANDERSON was born on September 24, 1839 in Ekeby, Orebro lan, Sweden. He was christened in September 1839 in,, Sweden - Lutheran Church. He was confirmed on August 5, 1855 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania - Lutheran Church. He immigrated to the U.S. on June 20, 1881. He died on December 16, 1923 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania. He was buried on December 18, 1923 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania. Comment: Lars E. Anderson and his wife Karolina Nelson were buried together in a double ceremony at the Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield, PA. She died on Wednesday, December 12, 1923 and Lars died the following Sunday morning causing Karolina's services to be delayed. The Rev. A. S. Pearson of the Bethany Lutheran Church conducted a double funeral on Tuesday, December 18,1923. Karolina and Lars' obituary was published in the Sheffield Observer on Dec 20, 1923. Lars Erik Anderson arrived in New York City on June 20, 1881 from Sweden. He became a US citizen on March 4, 1896. He moved to Sheffield, PA on August 15, 1882. His family was received into the Bethany Lutheran Church in Sheffield on March 6, 1888. This information is recorded on page 15 in the Old Records - the first church records in Sheffield PA. Lars worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for approximately thirty-five years before retiring. I believe more information pertaining to Lars and Karolina parents may be contained on microfilm reels located at the Family History Centers. See Fhodde and vigde (births and christenings) on microfilm reel number 0221292 for births (1668-1861) marriages (1666-1725), deaths (1666-1737) and moving, both in and out, 1857-1894. Also, see Husfhorhhorslhangd (clerical survey) on microfilm reel number 0136121 lists all families (1821-1840). He was married to Karolina NELSON on November 12, 1873 in,, Sweden. Karolina NELSON was born on July 4, 1843 in Skirofas, Jonkoping.las, Sweden. She was confirmed Page 1 of 6

in 1872 in,, Sweden. She emigrated on June 24, 1884. Since Karolina Nelson's husband and two oldest sons were already living in Pennsylvania, she went directly to Sheffield to be with them. She died on December 12, 1923 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania. She was buried on December 18, 1923 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania. Karolina Nelson arrived in New York City, New York on 24 June 1884 with her son Harold Erick Anderson. Lars and her oldest son, Johan Richard Anderson were already in America. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Sheffield, PA. This information taken from Page 15 in the old records- the first Church Records in Sheffield. Lars Erick ANDERSON and Karolina NELSON had the following children: +2 i. Johan Richard (Rick) ANDERSON (born on May 25, 1878). 3 ii. Harold Erik Konsfausin (Harlow) ANDERSON was born on October 12, 1879 in Olans, Linkopings, Sweden. He died on November 4, 1937 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio. He was buried on November 7, 1937 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania. The Rev. C.E. Lundgren officiated. Prior to the body being returned to Sheffield, services were held at the Reynolds Funeral Home in Akron also. The rev. H.D. Rose officiated. Harold Eric (Harlow) Anderson appeared to be in good health when he suddenly collapsed and died in his apartment from what may have been a brain hemorrhage. He was living at 1466 1/2 E. Market St. in Akron, Ohio when he passed away. Harlow came to US accompanied by his mother and brother, Helge Erik (Harry) Anderson on June 24 1884. He was confirmed on May 30, 1897 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania - Lutheran Church. Harlow resided in Sheffield where he worked as a painter until, 11 June 1908, when he enlisted in the US Army as a private. He was assigned to the 21st Company, Coast Artillery and served 6 honorable years before being Page 2 of 6

discharged on 11 June 1914. His discharge took place at Ft. Howard, Maryland where he completed his tour of duty as a Sergeant in the Quartermaster Corps. He opened (in December, 1920) and operated an oyster house and lunch room restaurant in the I.O.O.F. building in Sheffield, PA. The restaurant was subsequently purchased by Fred Hoyt. He left Sheffield and moved to Akron in 1924. He was working for the Loenthal Tire Re-claiming Company at the time of his death. +4 iii. Helge Erik (Harry) ANDERSON (born on February 5, 1886). SECOND GENERATION 2. Johan Richard (Rick) ANDERSON was born on May 25, 1878 in Olai, Linkopings lan, Sweden. Comment: At this time, we believe Olai or Olai fas is either a farm or small parish. He was confirmed on April 10, 1892 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania - Lutheran Church. He died on August 2, 1963 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio. He was buried on August 5, 1963 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio - Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. The funeral services were handled by the Adam's Funeral Home, 791 E. Market St. Akron, Ohio. Comments: 1. While in Pennsylvania, Rick also worked in lumber camps. The fingers on both hands were twisted and bent out of shape. This came from arm wrestling with their fingers locked together with burning candles on both sides of the table. The candles caused the loser to suffer burns to his hands. The men would allow their fingers to break rather than have their hands burned. 2. Johan Richard (Rick) Anderson worked in the petroleum fields in Pennsylvania. Rick supposedly heard there were good jobs in Texas so he, Pearl and their daughter Delores Page 3 of 6

took off for Texas. On his way, they had car problems and ran out of money near Akron, Ohio. Because they had no money to continue, Rick found a job and they permanently settled in Akron. 3. Rick, always a physically strong person, was shoveling snow at an Akron grade school when he was in his late 80's. He would get up at 4:00 am and shovel a path up the long driveway at David E. Hill elementary school in Akron. He always had a path open for the children to walk up to the school. I know because I was one of those children! 4. Rick lived with his daughter and son in law, Joseph M. Marinics, after his divorce and until his death. Rick retired from the Loenthal Tire Reclaiming Company in Akron, Ohio. He was married to Pearl MEEDER about 1904 in,, New York. He was divorced from Pearl MEEDER. Pearl MEEDER was born on September 22, 1882 in Ripley, Chautauqua County, New York. She died on February 22, 1961 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio - 945 Johnston Street. She was buried on February 24, 1961 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio - Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. The funeral services were handled by the Adam's Funeral Home, 791 E. Market St. Akron, Ohio. She was a very loving person who's childhood was very difficult for her. Johan Richard (Rick) ANDERSON and Pearl MEEDER had the following children: +5 i. Delores Evelyn ANDERSON (born on December 1, 1905). 3. Helge Erik (Harry) ANDERSON was born on February 5, 1886 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania. He was baptized on February 20, 1886 at the Sheffield, Lutheran Church. He died on September 22, 1966 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania. Helge Erik (Harry) Anderson died in Warren General Hospital in Warren, PA after being ill for 3 months and seriously ill the last two weeks. He was buried on September 24, 1966 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania - Sheffield Cemetery. Harry Anderson's funeral services were held at the Borden Funeral Home in Sheffield, PA. The Rev. Carl F. Eliason of Bethany Lutheran Church officiated. His obituary was published in the Warren Times Mirror & Observer on Sept 23, 1966. Page 4 of 6

In November, 1937, he was living at 25 Dunham St. in Sheffield, Pa. He was married to Bertha REDFORD in 1909 in Coudersport, Potter County, Pennsylvania. She was baptized on December 30, 1905 in Sheffield, Warren County, Pennsylvania at her parent's home. She died on August 24, 1971 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio. She was shot and fatally wounded by a demented neighbor. She was buried on August 27, 1971 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio - Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. She was married to Joseph M.
