Last Week s Program: Program Chairman John Donaghy introduced Dr. Al Comey as our guest speaker. He spoke to us on What is Health? The two main causes of disease are genes and environment. What you eat can have a profound effect on your health. The things that are bad for you are: Soda (diet or regular), chips/ snacks, french fries and milk. You should drink 1/2 of your body weight in fluid ounces daily and avoid tap water. An example is if your weight is 100lbs, than you should drink 50 ounces of water daily. Calcium is most important for your President Pete Molinaro and Dr. Al Comey body. If you exercise for 20 minutes and spend 15 minutes in the sun, this will give you your daily needed calcium. Dr. Comey also recommended a good multi vitamin be taken daily. Omega 3 can reduce pain and give you healthy skin. In order to attain a good night s sleep, you should turn off the TV 2 hours prior to going to bed, this will allow your mind to relax. Today the average life expectancy is 77.6 years of age. Your environment makes up 80% to 90% of your risk for cancer. You can always change how you live your life. Chiropractic assistance can reduce blood pressure and health costs. Eighty five out of one hundred people will have some sort of back pain. He advised, take care of your body, you only have one. Next Week s Program: Students of the Month: Richard L. Sanders School Dixie Hollins High School Pinellas Park High School Pete Molinaro Kenny Krauss Michael Bohnet John Johnston Quotable Quotes Within I do not find wrinkles and used heart, but unspent youth.
