Development Sign Requirements FORM 3 For applications for Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment, Plan of Subdivision and Plan of Condominium (Vacant Lands), the applicant is required to post signs in accordance with the following: 1. For the purposes of these regulations, the applicant means any person, firm or corporation controlling the property under consideration, including any authorized agent. 2. Draft signage must be provided to the Planning Services Department with your application in accordance with the Development Sign Specifications and using the Development Sign template found at oakville.ca. 3. The Planner will review your draft signage template and provide you with a QR code image file when it is final approved, to be forwarded together with the approved template to your sign maker. 4. The sign shall be constructed in accordance with the final approved specifications as provided by the Planner and in a manner that is structurally stable, waterproof, and readable from the street. Any damage to the sign shall be repaired or replaced at the expense of the applicant. 5. The sign must be posted within one week of receiving the confirmation email (i.e. affirmative response re: completeness ) and must be posted in accordance with the final approved specifications, as provided to you by the Planner. 6. The application will NOT be circulated until proof has been submitted by the applicant to the Planning Services Department (i.e. a photograph of the sign on the property) that the sign has been properly erected and the confirmation of posting letter (which will be mailed with the acknowledgment letter) has been signed and returned. 7. One sign is to be located on every separately assessed parcel within the subject land and facing each street frontage. 8. The applicant is responsible for sign maintenance and shall remove the sign(s): a) upon commencement of construction, if the application is approved, or b) within 48 hours after withdrawal of the application, or c) within 48 hours after having been notified that the application has been denied.
