National Trust Cottages Access Statement Longstone 001006 Isle of Wight Introduction Edwardian detached cottage at head of Longstone in beautiful surrounding countryside This cottage is isolated and a short drive away from Brighstone village It is a gas only cottage though the wall lights are electric as powered by solar panels The Cottage is arranged as follows: Ground Floor: Kitchen, sitting room, dining room, downstairs bathroom and separate WC First Floor: 2 twin bedrooms and 1 double Pre-Arrival See the main webpage for booking and location details. Directions provided with booking Approach Along winding and upwardly sloping track for approximately ½ mile with 2 gates to open Arrival & Parking Facilities Inside last gate large gravelled area for parking several cars in cottage grounds Page 1 of 7
Getting in (and out) of the cottage Back door (main entrance) is 750mm wide with 150 mm concrete step and threshold into kitchen Front door (guests given key for this entrance also) with steps leading to tiled porch Doorway with 170 mm step up leads into hallway All doorways both external and internal are min 730 mm wide Getting around the cottage Ground floor: On entering back door arrive in kitchen with vinyl flooring Doors off into lobby area with 90 mm step up which leads to WC and bathroom all this area also has vinyl flooring Other door from kitchen leads into sitting room and then onwards into hallway (quarry tiles) with stairs and dining room First floor Carpeted stairs and landing 14 stairs with 190 mm tread and balustrade to right Staircase width is 790 mm Spacious layout upstairs and landing Kitchen Page 2 of 7

Garden Large garden all around cottage mainly grass though this is sloping and uneven Wrought iron table and 4 chairs and garden bench Additional Information Assistance dogs are welcome at all our cottages In the event of a fire, it is the responsibility of the guests to evacuate themselves. Vibrating fire/smoke detectors are available if requested at time of booking. Please contact us if you have any other specific access requirements in this respect.
