The Old School House The Old School House is situated half way up Woolland Hill (450 ft) adjacent to the Manor House, the church and Woolland House amongst some of the most beautiful countryside in Dorset. Built in 1854, the Old School House is a Grade II listed former school room, head gardener s cottage and various estate buildings. It has been sympathetically converted over the years with the addition of the art studio, double garage and workshop. The Old School House has an attractive entrance hall with the drawing room to one side with it s original carved stone fireplace and mullioned windows. To the other side is the kitchen / breakfast room which has windows on three sides and is fitted with a range of timber units and a 4 oven electric AGA (cream). Beyond the kitchen is the utility room with steps up to the walk-through sun room and wine room with French windows into the garden and onto a long barn which now forms the dining room and study. A glazed passageway leads on through a small workroom into the stunning art studio with skylights and double doors onto a patio area. Situation & Amenities Woolland is a small village in a peaceful part of Dorset within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in the lee of Bulbarrow, one of the highest hills in Dorset. The neighbouring village of Ibberton (1½ miles) has a public house, whilst Sturminster Newton (5 miles) has a good range of shops.
