Teachers activities Vol. 1. no. 4 April-June 2016 Ms. Sanghamitra Sarkar & Dr. Suchandra Bardhan attended the ICOMOS symposium held at Indian Museum on 15-16 th April 2016 as a delegate. Dr. Suchandra Bardhan was invited as a speaker at the 2 nd International Workshop for Gandhi Bhawan Conservation Planning: Keeping it Modern on 28th -29th April at Gandhi Bhawan, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized by Panjab University in association with DRONAH and IIT Madras. Bose with the participants Upcoming events Three-day Training of Trainers program under GODREJ CSR Employability Initiative Godrej-Disha from 7th - 9th June 2016 A teaching cum training service titled "Training the Trainers for Interior Design & Site Supervision" has been rendered to some selected trainers of M/s. Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. during 7-9 June 2016 at the Department of Architecture of Jadavpur University. Prof. Tapas Kumar Bhattacharyya was Convenor and Prof. Shivashish Bose was Coordinator of this training programme. Mr. Ravindra from Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. Mumbai, and Mr. Suthirtha Banerjee, Mr. Surajit Paul and Ms. Anindita Ray from George Telegraph Training Institute Kolkata were participant-trainers in this programme. Prof. S. Bose, Prof. T. K. Bhattacharyya and Prof. J. Guha Niyogi taught on behalf of the Department of Architecture and Mr. Pabitra Ghosh, Mr. Ronit Maity, Mr. Suman Biswas, Mr. Somen Sarkar, Mr. Samir Mandal, Mr. Shibnath Sen, Mr. Sk. Jahangir Alam, and Dr. Goutam Banerjee provided the training. Mr. Ashok Kumar Ghosh and Mr. Ashok Sinha of the Department assisted in arrangement of refreshments and necessary office-assistance during the three days in this programme. The Department will support a three-day composite event of seminar & workshop by Architects & Engineers Guild on Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) at the H.L. Auditorium, JU from 19 th -21 st August 2016. Dr. Debashish Das is the coordinator of this program. Academicians, professionals and students attached to the building industry are expected to benefit from the deliberations and discussions at the event. 8
