LIVING ON THE AMSTEL HAUT is part of Amstelkwartier, the varied neighborhood between Amsterdam-Zuid, the Rivierenbuurt and Watergraafsmeer. From every home you can see what Amstelkwartier has to offer: urban living perfectly combined with the tranquility of water and greenery. In this way, HAUT offers the best of both worlds. Living directly on the CREATE Amstel, and on the other side of Korte Ouderkerkerdijk: Park Somerlust, Amstelkwartier s outdoor area. In the coming years the Amstelkwartier will further develop as a pleasant residential area. A cycle bridge over the Weespertrekvaart towards Watergraafsmeer and a shopping center are already planned. From the outset, we opted for interesting variations, both inside - the layout, as well as outside - the balconies and facades. As a result, the apartments on the 20 floors are always different. For buyers this means many different floor plans and plenty of freedom to choose. Thomas Harms, architect at Team V Architectuur THE BUILDING ICONIC, INNOVATIVE, INSPIRING HAUT is an iconic building. Not only the highest wooden residential tower in the Netherlands, but also a gateway to the city and an enrichment of the Amsterdam skyline. Conversely, HAUT lets residents fully enjoy Amsterdam - ceilings approximately 2.85 meters high, large floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious outdoor areas. With glass facades up to 25 meters wide, HAUT offers an unprecedented view of the city. Nowhere in the world has so much openness been combined with wood. HAUT shows that an innovative, sustainable construction can blend wonderfully with high-quality architecture, without compromising on luxury and living comfort. In addition, HAUT is purposefully small-scale: every residential floor has just two or three apartments. 18 19

SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION HAUT is made of wood. A centuries-old building material, yet at the same time, the innovation in sustainable building. Wood does not emit CO2, but naturally stores it. Some 2,500 tons of CO2 is stored in HAUT s wood. Building the supporting structure with sustainable European softwood, rather than concrete, also significantly reduces CO2 emissions in the construction process. This CO2 saving roughly equals the emissions associated with 10 years of basic energy consumption for the 52 dwellings. In addition to its wooden high-rise construction, HAUT generates sustainable energy from solar panels on the roof and on the facade. In addition, the residential tower comes with triple glazing and is extremely well insulated. Finally, wherever possible, all materials used in HAUT are recyclable. Because of all its sustainable qualities, HAUT s design achieves the highest attainable sustainability label: BREEAM Outstanding. This is a reward for the creative use of materials, and innovations in energy and water conservation, health, safety, light and comfort. Never before has a residential building in the Netherlands received this honorable certificate. A unique achievement The standard for measuring sustainability in the Netherlands is the so-called BREEAM certificate. Up to now, this has mostly been used in the Netherlands to certify office buildings and warehouses. HAUT set a new standard by applying for a sustainability certificate as a residential building, and with great success. The HAUT design has been awarded 5 out of 5 stars, or BREEAM Outstanding - the highest attainable design certificate. and a fine example of healthy urban development. Internationally, HAUT has also achieved the highest sustainability score. During the BREEAM Awards Gala in London, HAUT, the only Dutch nomination in the Homes category, won the BREEAM Design Award for best residential building! Babette Verheggen, consultant at ARUP 20

FITNESS WITH A VIEW OF PARK SOMERLUST ON THE AMSTEL HEALTH & PERFORMANCE CLUB GREAT HAUT intends to open a branch of Health & Performance Club Great on the ground floor. This successful club, which already has a base in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid, offers everything for a healthy lifestyle and all activities related to vitality, sport, wellness and nutrition. The Health & Performance Club Great in HAUT will be a pleasant meeting area dedicated to exercise and relaxation, with views over Somerlust Park on the Amstel. The underfloor heating and cooling keep the interior comfortable in every season: it s even possible to walk barefoot through the house in Winter. The indoor climate also remains pleasant in the warm Summer months. As a natural material, wood also ensures a pleasant living climate. It feels nice, while offering better moisture regulation and acoustics. 24

THE STYLE OF HAUT The apartments in HAUT are finished in detail. Buyers can also work with their own interior designer to lay out and decorate their home completely to their taste. HAUT asked interior architects TANK to provide their vision of living in HAUT. A separate inspiration booklet is available, in which the special ideas of these interior architects are put together. In our design, we opted for an attractive balance between wood and other high-quality materials, for additional atmosphere and character. CREATE HAUT offers future residents the freedom to completely tailor their kitchen to their own taste, so apartments are delivered without kitchen. People can utilize their own design and add their personal touch to fully connect their kitchen to their lifestyle. HAUT s preferred supplier is Leicht Amsterdam. This provider serves the higher-end market segment and its showroom is located in the Amstelkwartier. Leicht Amsterdam is familiar with the building and designs kitchens that fit perfectly with HAUT. Of course, it s also possible to choose a kitchen from another supplier, as people s tastes differ. KEUKEN COOKING 30 31

CREATE Bathrooms in HAUT are custom-designed and are of the highest quality: modern materials, sanitary ware and taps from renowned brands, and walls finished with plasterwork or tiling. The entrance to the common bike storage is located right next to HAUT s main entrance, on Korte Ouderkerkerdijk. Residents can park their car in the two-story underground carpark. This is reached by two car lifts on Amstelbeststraat. Two passenger lifts bring residents directly to their floor. Extra storage rooms are available in the parking garage, in addition to those provided in the homes themselves.
