Vacation Experience What is this? An Opportunity for NUS Students who are NON-RESIDENTS to experience on-campus stay with Office of Housing Services student accommodations. Who Can Apply? Current NUS Students (holding NUS Matric Card) who are not staying on campus. When and Who Can Stay? 11 Dec 2017 to 11 Jan 2018 vacation period, subject to availability. Strictly for applicants affiliated to NUS Academic programs only. No subletting or sharing is allowed. Single occupant per room. Where? Between 20 Nov to 4 Dec 2017, students can apply via walk-in at the respective housing offices management offices.

Reservations and Payment Booking Period: From 20 Nov to 4 Dec 2017, students can walk in to book and pay at the respective student housing front desk. Payment: Full payment to be made upfront during reservations (prior to check-in). Operating hours of Front Desk: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. Closed on public holidays and weekends. Rooms are for single occupant only. Guest are not allowed to sleep over. 2. Smoking and the consumption of alcoholic drinks are strictly prohibited in the Residences. 3. Guests shall observe the specific quiet hours (from 11.00pm to 7.00am) in Residence as established by the Office of Housing Services. 4. Guests are prohibited from engaging in inappropriate conduct, in or about the residential block which poses a threat to the health or safety of persons or property, which interferes with the rights or well-being of others, or which violates any provision of this Agreement, or any rule/regulation of the University or any applicable law. 5. No physical games or sports activities are to be held within Residence without prior approval from Office of Housing Services. Office of Housing Services reserves the right to stop any entertainment, games, or other activities which in the Management's opinion is illegal, improper, indecent, unsafe, or likely to be a nuisance. 6. The following are prohibited: Animals and pets of any kind, heating and food preparation appliances and refrigerators (other than University approved appliances), waterbeds, fuel-powered vehicles, air conditioners (other than University installed units), halogen lamps and any other items as deemed inappropriate by the Office of Housing Services. 7. Equipment provided by the University for the use of residents and guests within the common pantry includes the refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster, cooker hob and hood, baking oven only. All other appliances, cooking utensils and food items are the private property of the residents and NOT TO BE USED without its owner's permission.

Visitors: Guests shall be responsible for the conduct of their visitors (visitors shall in all instances include family, friends, or relatives), who must also respect and comply with all rules/regulations while in or about Residence. Any breach by any such visitors shall be deemed to be a breach by the guests. All visitors must leave by 11:00pm. Visitors are strictly prohibited from staying overnight. 9. Fire Safety: a) Guests are advised to observe the Fire Safety Notice and are prohibited from tampering the fire-alarm systems (including fire alarms, fire extinguishers or any other fire-safety equipment) without reasonable threat of a fire being present. No cooking or the use of naked flame/fire shall be permitted in the rooms. Preparation of food is strictly allowed only in the common pantry and kitchens. b) Guests are prohibited from placing any personal belongings (including footwear), garbage, trash or other receptacles, vehicles, bicycles or other objects that could hinder and cause obstruction in the corridor or other common areas or passageway of the Residences. c) The Office of Housing Services reserves the right to remove personal property stored or placed in common areas in violation of this Agreement.

Room and Facility Condition/Care of Premises: a) No guests or visitor may paint, put nails or screws in, makes holes in, or otherwise alter or damage the residence accommodation or any other part of Residence. b) Guests are not allowed to remove any furniture, fitting, or any other Residence properties from their accommodations and the common areas in the residential blocks, and in particular not to block fire doors or emergency exits. c) Each guest shall be responsible for keeping the residence accommodation, including all the furnishings and equipment, clean and safe, and for maintaining the cleanliness and order of public areas and lavatories. d) Guests may not remove windows or screens or throw objects from windows, fire escapes, doors, or other exterior parts of Residence. e) The guest shall not display any posters, signs, banners, or any other materials within Residence premises without the expressed consent from Office of Housing Services. f) It is prohibited to duplicate keys to any University residence accommodation or facility. g) The guests shall be responsible for any loss or damage to all Residence properties, and the cost of replacements or repairs may be included in the final statement of account.

Loss or Damage: a) The Office of Housing Services shall not be liable directly or indirectly for personal injury, loss, and/or damage to personal property of a guest, guarantor, legal guardian, and visitor caused by fire, theft, or any other cause, whether such personal injury, loss, or damage occurs in the residence accommodation or elsewhere on or off Residence. b) Penalty Charges for loss of Transponder, Access Card and keys are $60.00, $30.00 and $10.00 per room respectively. c) The guests shall indemnify and hold the University harmless from all loss, damage, or liability to any person arising from any nuisance made or suffered in or around the Residences by the guest or visitors, or from any carelessness, negligence, or improper conduct of such guest or visitor. 12. Room Inspection: The Office of Housing Services reserves the right for its designees to enter and inspect a residence's accommodation in the interests of the health, safety, and proper conduct of the occupants, or the orderly and efficient administration and operation of the residential system, or to maintain or repair the premises. Entry may be made at any time, whether or not the occupant is present, and without prior notice to the occupant, if emergency, health, or safety circumstances warrant such entry or if there are reasonable grounds to believe that any substance, material, or item is being kept or used on the premises in any manner prohibited by law, by this Agreement, or by the rules/regulations of the University. Entry may also be made without prior notice, during normal hours, for the purpose of conducting non-emergency inspections.
