Search for Parcel MYRegionView presents a number of tools to search for a parcel. You can find the search tools either by opening the Home Pane, the Search tab or the I Want To menu.
Search for Parcel by Address Property addresses are assigned by the addressing authorities (e.g. municipality, First Nations, regional district). TNRD staff is responsible for assigning addresses for properties within unincorporated areas of the regional district. If your property does not have an address, contact the appropriate addressing authority. Click the Search by Address tool to activate the search tool. In the Address box, enter the civic number followed by a space and the street name. You ll notice as you type, the search tool will return a filtered list that matches what you type. Select the address and click the Search button. The result of your search will be returned in the Information Panel and the Map window will zoom to the parcel of interest. You can click View Additional Details to view additional information about the property and open the different information tabs to view information such as building permits, assessment values or legal description. Click on address for more details.
Click on the address, i.e. 762 Lake South Road, more details will appear in the results panel. Click on View Property Report and a pdf copy of the property report will open.
Search for Parcel by Land Titles Parcel Identifier (PID) Parcel Identifier Number (PID) is often required to access land title and survey records. A PID is a unique nine-digit number used to identify titled parcels of land in BC. The PID can be found on a property s tax assessment notice. A PID is automatically assigned by the land title system when the parcel is created through registration of a subdivision or Crown grant. Click the Search by PID tool. In the PID window, type the parcel identifier number following the correct formatting (e.g. 006-601-375). This tool has a filter as you type the nine-digits of the PID.
Search for Parcel by BC Assessment Authority Folio (jurisdiction and roll number) Folio is a number assigned to the property for assessment administrative purposes normally printed in the top right corner of an Assessment Notice. For most properties one roll number is used for each specific property. It is possible that one property is comprised of several roll numbers, or one roll number can cover several properties. The first 3-digits of the folio represent the assessment jurisdiction (e.g. 731-Electoral Areas M & N), followed by 8 digits commonly referred to as the assessment roll number. Click the Search by Folio tool. In the Folio window, type the folio number (be sure to follow the correct formatting (e.g. 731.06170.500)). This tool does filter after the third digit is typed. For a wildcard search, enter only the first eight-digits of the folio number (e.g. leave out the last threedigits) and press the Search button. This method of searching will return a list of parcels matching your search criteria.
Search for Parcel by Legal Description A legal description is a unique parcel identifier. Each parcel of land in BC has a unique parcel description. The legal description is derived from a number of data sources including the type of survey system used to originally define the land, the land district which the parcel lies within and assigned plan number. The Search by Legal Description tool exposes the legal descriptions as entered in the Geographic Information System. Activate the search tool by clicking Search by Legal Description. As you type, a filtered list of matching legal descriptions will display to help you find the exact match. Use a % at the beginning of your search for a wild-card character if required.
Property Information Report Once you ve located your property of interest, you can create a report containing a map and information about the property. The Property Report tool can be found under the Tasks tab and in the I Want To menu. Click on the Property Report tool. Once the tool has been activated, click the location on the map where you would like to create a property report. One the parcel has been selected, in the information click on View Property Report. Once the report has been created, a message will appear on the Information Panel.
Click the View Report link to view your report in Adobe Reader.
