Our Time Here My husband built this house 27 years ago as a property to sell. After choosing the fixtures and fittings, I realised that this was my only chance to have a brand new house, so we took it off the market and moved in ourselves! We've had 26 very happy years here since. Our favourite part of the house is the conservatory. We eat in there all the time and do all our entertaining there because it looks over the beautiful garden and the pool. We also have our Christmas lunch out there, which is just magical if we're lucky enough to get snow! I have put a lot of work into the garden over the years and it is gorgeous with established plants. We really like the area as it s so convenient for everything. The village has a chemist and a convenience store, and is just a 3 minute walk from the prestigious Junior Kings School. We have a little boat on the River Stour, and made lots of new friends. Our lifestyle changed when we moved here and it opened up new horizons as there is so much to do. Our children were provided with some independence too; our daughter used to attend college at Broadstairs and had an easy short train ride. The local area is great for dog walking, with some lovely walks nearby. We quite like going to Europe and I will miss getting on the train to Ashford International, and then straight to Paris or Brussels. It is so quick, and it's also easy to get to London and connections to other cities. It would be a great place for a commuter. This has been such a social house, especially when we added the swimming pool 16 years ago. On a lovely day our friends and neighbours will come over and our grandsons have all learned to swim in the pool. We're going to be very sad to leave, but unfortunately our health is not so wonderful now that we are getting older. We need a smaller house and we would like to be closer to our daughter and grandchildren. This house has been a perfect family home, and we hope that the next owners will be as happy here as we have been.
