Property Fieldway House is a stunning modern family home with a heated swimming pool, double garage with a self-contained annex above and a workshop/office. Situated in the heart of the village the property was designed and built by the current owners with the aim of creating a house for entertaining. The ground floor is approached via the entrance hall with a cloakroom and a staircase rising to the first floor. There is a lounge with French doors to the garden, a dining room, and the hub of the house being the superb kitchen/diner with modern units leading to an attractive double glazed conservatory overlooking the gardens and pool area. The first floor has a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, three further bedrooms and a family bathroom. Externally, there are gardens to the side, an impressive pool area and a self-contained annex with its own shower room and kitchen area, which could also be used as a guest suite if required. The property is found in the heart of the village of Sturry, which is approximately 3 miles North East of Canterbury. The village has a church, public houses, a restaurant, two primary schools and a railway station with one stop service to Canterbury West railway station. Canterbury City Centre is easily accessible and offers a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as leisure and recreational facilities. There are good road links to the coast via the A28 and London via the A299 Thanet Way or the A2. Canterbury also offers a high-speed rail link to London St. Pancras.

Our Time Here My husband built this house 27 years ago as a property to sell. After choosing the fixtures and fittings, I realised that this was my only chance to have a brand new house, so we took it off the market and moved in ourselves! We've had 26 very happy years here since. Our favourite part of the house is the conservatory. We eat in there all the time and do all our entertaining there because it looks over the beautiful garden and the pool. We also have our Christmas lunch out there, which is just magical if we're lucky enough to get snow! I have put a lot of work into the garden over the years and it is gorgeous with established plants. We really like the area as it s so convenient for everything. The village has a chemist and a convenience store, and is just a 3 minute walk from the prestigious Junior Kings School. We have a little boat on the River Stour, and made lots of new friends. Our lifestyle changed when we moved here and it opened up new horizons as there is so much to do. Our children were provided with some independence too; our daughter used to attend college at Broadstairs and had an easy short train ride. The local area is great for dog walking, with some lovely walks nearby. We quite like going to Europe and I will miss getting on the train to Ashford International, and then straight to Paris or Brussels. It is so quick, and it's also easy to get to London and connections to other cities. It would be a great place for a commuter. This has been such a social house, especially when we added the swimming pool 16 years ago. On a lovely day our friends and neighbours will come over and our grandsons have all learned to swim in the pool. We're going to be very sad to leave, but unfortunately our health is not so wonderful now that we are getting older. We need a smaller house and we would like to be closer to our daughter and grandchildren. This house has been a perfect family home, and we hope that the next owners will be as happy here as we have been.

Important Notice: In accordance with the Property Misdescriptions Act (1991) we have prepared these sales particulars as a general guide to give a broad description of the property.
