Access Statement for Mariners Cottage 12 Endeavour Court Captain Cook's Haven Larpool Lane Whitby N.Yorkshire YO22 4NE Introduction Mariners Cottage is situated by the River Esk in Captain Cook's Haven. It is one of a number of privately owned dwellings in a comfortable and modern Holiday Park. Our cottage is by the river with lovely views and parking outside the front door and only 1 mile from Whitby. Pre-Arrival You will have booked through our letting agent Whitby Holiday Cottages 47 Flowergate Whitby and they will have provided you with full details of booking and key collection. Their website address is www.whitbyholidaycottages.net and the reference number for Mariners cottage is 388. Arrival & Car Parking Facilities Once you have collected the key from the agent they will provide clear directions to the cottage. On arrival on site, go down the hill, passed the indoor swiming pool which is situated on the left. The cottage has a red front door and is on the right, with the car parking clearly shown as number 12 right outside the cottage. Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area You can enter the cottage by the front door with the key provided. Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc The cottage has a small entrance hall and understairs cupboard. The hall leads to a comfortable lounge recently modernised with some new furniture and a small kitchen area off. The cottage has two floors and the first floor has : Double Bedroom,Twin Bedroom and Bathroom with white 3 piece suite with Mira Sport Shower over the bath.
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc All the grounds on the site are accessible including the play areas at the top and bottom of the complex. The swimming pool is available for your use and simply leave a  5.00 deposit at the reception office (next to pool) who will provide you with a key for entry together with a disclaimer which you will be required to sign. The deposit will be refunded when you hand in the key at the end of your stay. There is also a laundry next to reception for your convenience and reception will provide full details of use and cost. Public WCs In the changing area for the pool there is a public WC Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Bar area, Take Away & Cafe There a numerous restaurants, cafes public houses only 1 mile from the cottage in Whitby. Please refer to the Tourist guide in the cottage for full details which is updated every year. Laundry The laundry is next to the reception office at the top of the hill and full operating instructions are provided inside together with cost. Shop The nearest small food shop/ newsagent is shown in the information pack in the cottage but the Co-operative Store is next to the harbour in Whitby about 1 mile away. In addition to the heated indoor pool guests have free use of the BBQs in the designated areas. One is situated just opposite the cottage overlooking the River Esk. Utensils for the BBQ can be found in the understairs cupboard in a box. The children's play areas are clearly marked. Outdoor Facilities Conference & Meeting Rooms, Banqueting Clubs & Entertainment Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas As well as the two bedrooms which sleep 4, I understand that cots can be hired from the reception for a reasonable cost. Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared] To use the shower, pull the cord and ensure the curtain is inside the bath. Extra hot water can be obtained by using the boost switch in the kitchen but this is not normally required. Self-Catering Kitchen The kitchen has a 4 ring ceramic hob, combi microwave oven and fridge. The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils, crockery etc that you will require during your stay.
