LONGUE VUE HOUSE & GARDENS presents NOVEMBER 1ST & 2ND, 2018 Dear Friend, For the past 27 years, the Friends of Longue Vue Steering Committee has celebrated the art of design and design education through the Essence of Style Design Symposium. These symposia inspire and engage a local audience interested in interior, landscape, and floral design. Each year the Symposium raises funds to support the preservation of Longue Vue as one of New Orleans historic gems and its role as a cultural center that provides dynamic programming for the New Orleans community. This fall, we are delighted to welcome Lewis Miller, Master Florist, as the featured speaker. Miller studied horticulture and landscape design in Seattle, Washington before moving to New York to work for a top floral boutique. In March of 2002, he created LMD New York City (Lewis Miller Design) to showcase his love for detail and ability to wow audiences by combining luxurious and simple materials in a single floral arrangement. In addition to his stunning arrangements, Miller is known for his elaborate flower flashes : spontaneous floral designs that pop-up across the New York City landscape. New York is a city much like New Orleans where the urban and the historic exist side-by-side and the culture seems to create an irresistible pulse. These flower flashes by Miller promote moments of community around something worth smiling about. Beyond a shared love of florals and design, this kind of community impact and creativity is what links Lewis Miller and Longue Vue. Each year the Symposium attracts locals and professionals in various design fields who place importance on aesthetics and have discerning and sophisticated taste. The majority of our attendees are decision makers between the ages of 35 and 75. Many of them are on local boards or volunteer committees, they know how to entertain, and as New Orleanians do, they know how to throw a good party. They are locally minded and actively seek to support local businesses such as yours. Please join us by sponsoring this spectacular luncheon to learn about florals, design, and community from one of the top talents, Lewis Miller. Enclosed is information on how you can support the Symposium and gain exposure in front of an engaged audience. When you partner with Longue Vue, you empower, enrich, and encourage our New Orleans community. Thank you in advance for your time and support, Erin Fleming Sponsorship Co-Chair Kathy Weidner Sponsorship Co-Chair
