Chairman s Report Jereme MacKinnon, AScT Read Jones Christoffersen Ltd. Nanaimo, B.C. I would like to begin by saying how excited I am to have been elected to serve as the CSC Vancouver Island Chapter Chair. Thank You to Terry Bergen who not only served as the first Chapter Chair, but was the driving force behind the establishment of the new chapter. Terry is now acting as the Director for the VAI chapter. With 15 chapters across Canada, membership exceeds 1700 nationally. Our chapter membership is currently at 22 and growing. With the first year in the books, the future is looking great. The inaugural year saw the sharing of information and provided networking opportunities. It also paved the way for many new and exciting events. The VAI Chapter also hosted it s first in-class education opportunity with the Principles of Construction Documentation. Congratulations go out to all of the successful graduates from that program. The next PCD course is starting September 21st, see attached registration form for more information. More education opportunities will be available and we will keep you informed. We are very excited to announce that we are hosting our first mini-trade show on November, 23rd at the Harbour Towers Hotel and we hope to see you there. More information regarding the trade show can be found on Page 5. In closing, this year we have many new presentations ranging from Green Roofs to Elevator codes. I am looking forward to serving as the Vancouver Island Chapter Chair and look forward to meeting you at an event in the near future.
