These typologies relate their characteristics, on the one hand, to the functional conditions and, on the other, to the regularities of the criteria of space, order, development, but also technical requirements and many more. Finally, collective-archetypical association and perception patterns act as supercultural constants on the design. Starting with the primal experiences of the place and the space, we elaborate the dependencies between architecture and human interaction. Recognition and integration of the various dependencies of architectural designing. Structure and sensitivity for sociological and functional basic knowledge. Application of this basic module of architectural understanding in concrete practice and design tasks of increasing complexity, involving external, technical, economical, or user-specific inputs. This is closely linked with the conscious application of a wide range of construction materials and complex structures. The goal is the development of traditional construction types and of solid and frame construction with increasing complexity of the exercises. Here, students should apply adequate construction techniques and become acquainted with and fundamentally analyse construction materials and structural designs with their specifics. In addition, the development of complex building structures and support systems is applied independently by means of adequate laying principles and the processing of building physics, ecological, building and technical requirements. Structural design module Subjects Structural design theory 1, Structural design theory 2 Prof. Dr. Irmgard Lochner-Aldinger Prof. Dr. Irmgard Lochner-Aldinger Bachelor's degree 1 st and 2 nd semester Examination Structural design 1 (2 hrs), student research project Structural design 2 Structural design theory1 lectures in the 1 st semester covers elements of structural design theory, mechanisms of load transfer and structuralspecific characteristics of construction materials. Furthermore, basic principles for the design of structures are outlined. Based on this, in the second semester, structural designs are developed by deriving the supporting structures from the internal component stresses on largescale, formable, "dynamic" models. The learning of the "point of view" of architecture from the perspective of the structural design theory of constructions is intended to establish a common understanding and vocabulary of architects and engineers. Furthermore, design exercises with the focus on the load bearing of components allow a basic understanding of the effect of forces on these components. This leads to a clear experience of the mechanisms required to resist these forces. Heat storage and heat transfer mechanisms; the applied component calculations for heat protection, calculation of heat losses in a heating period, minimum heat protection, EnEV [German Energy Saving Regulation] and EEWärmeG [Renewable Energy Heat Act], comfort factors and value ranges, surface condensation, water vapour transport mechanisms as well as water supply and water barriers, definition and evaluation of different sound levels, calculation with sound levels, applied component calculations for air and footfall sound protection, sound insulation of building facilities, sound insulation against external noise, noise protection requirements acc. to DIN 4109 and VDI 4100, applied planning principles for room acoustics, room acoustic requirements and recommendations. Basic understanding and ability for dialogue of the physical understanding of the issues of heat, noise and moisture. Architectural history 2 deals with the historical typologies and their epoch-specific appearances from the ancient world to the modern age. The building survey gives insight into the techniques of construction documentation and gives a first introduction to the theory and practice of the preservation of monuments. Recognition of historical typologies and empowerment in stylistic attribution, acquiring of a specific terminology, recognition of superior architectural principles and forms of expression, and their iconological significance. Creation of inventory plans, including detailed building description and monument preservation concept. Experience in dealing with historical sources. In doing so, the students apply the approach to the complex process of architectural design. All common parameters of the building design are included in the discourse, basic questions and concepts of the design are the focus. In addition, differentiated and strategies of the design theory are discussed in terms of historical and current architectural examples in analysis and practice. The aim of this second step is the training of students in the ability to develop their own structural thesis. Knowledge of proven architectural thinking, of architectural planning process and used terminology. Competence of target-oriented critical analysis of a design task, connected with the goal of processing this in a structured and comprehensible manner. Buildings and technical facilities serve to create interior spaces, where the climate is kept comfortable regardless of the natural conditions The technical interrelationships are to be explained with the support of the topics such as heat demand detection / cover, heating types, HVAC options, electrical engineering, lighting technology. HVAC options, electrical engineering, lighting technology to discuss the technical connections. General requirements for exterior space, building structure and technology; building specifications, storey height development; cut-out planning; installation systems; installations for water and sewage; comfort criteria as a basis for heating and airconditioning technology. The architect, as a generalist, is to provide information on the scale and impact of the integration of technical building equipment, the coordination of all aspects in the interest of a holistic result. The goal is achieved through information on practical projects as well as a theoretical examination of the specific aspects of the trades. Structures, components and construction materials are not to be viewed in isolation, but are developed in interaction with one another and with the environment. The treatment of material cycles with the consideration of the effects of individual construction materials on man and the environment are also part of the teaching as well as aesthetic and construction-related questions. Familiarisation of a spectrum of construction materials and their application possibilities also with regard to the technical, constructive, ecological and economic concerns. Constructive design module Subjects Constructive design 1, Constructive design 2 Prof. Theilig Prof. Aldinger, Prof. Theilig Bachelor's degree - 4 th semester, 5 th semester Student research project The constructive design forms the realistic treatment of a project from concept to execution planning. More disciplines are included in analogy to the services phases 2-7 of the HOAI. In the 1 st part, the development of a planning concept is in the foreground. The focus of the second part is mainly on the execution planning and the building implementation. Structural design includes the subjects of Structural design, Building technology, Planning + Building as well as Construction materials. Constructive design enables students to participate in complex projects in the profession or to work on simple projects independently.
