SFO TERMINAL 1 AND HOTEL SUSPENDED PUBLIC ART PROJECT ARTIST SELECTION PANEL TWO MEETING SUMMARY MEETING DATE July 10, 2017 VOTING SELECTION PANELISTS Sarah Cifarelli, Airport Art Manager, Los Angeles World Airports Ryan Fetters, Associate Designer, Gensler Sarah Garcia, SFO Hotel Project Manager, San Francisco International Airport Mark Hornberger, Founding Principal Principal-in-Charge of Design, Hornberger + Worstell Dorka Keehn, Arts Commissioner Amy Owen, Curator, di Rosa Blake Summers, Director and Chief Curator, SFO Museum George Waters, Senior Associate, Woods Bagot PROCESS The following artists presented an overview of their practice and proposals for the SFO Terminal 1 and Hotel Suspended Public Art Project Artist Selection Panel: SFO Hotel Jacob Hashimoto Dana Hemenway Tahiti Pehrson Terminal 1, TSA Security Screening Checkpoint Liz Glynn Jacob Hashimoto Tomás Saraceno Ranjani Shettar Terminal 1, Boarding Area B Mark Handforth Tomás Saraceno Ranjani Shettar The panelists were asked to discuss and evaluate each of the proposals on the following criteria: Aesthetic quality Appropriateness of the proposed artwork for the site and project goals Demonstrated feasibility of the preliminary proposal and the proposal budget Demonstrated maintainability and durability of the artwork s design, materials, fabrication and installation methods The panelist then ranked the artists 1, 2, or 3 OR 1, 2, 3, or 4 (1 = highest rank) accordingly.

Motion: Motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into contract with artist Jacob Hashimoto LLC for an amount not to exceed $300,000 for design, fabrication, transportation and installation consultation of an artwork for the San Francisco International Airport: SFO Hyatt Hotel Project. Motion: Motion to approve consideration of runner-up proposals by Dana Hemenway and Tahiti Pehrson for future San Francisco International Airport opportunities. Motion: Motion to approve selected artist, Liz Glynn and proposal for the San Francisco International Airport: Terminal 1 Center, TSA Security Checkpoint as recommended by the Artist Selection Panel. Motion: Motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into contract with artist Liz Glynn Studio for an amount not to exceed $850,000 for design, fabrication, transportation and installation consultation of an artwork for the San Francisco International Airport: Terminal 1 Center, TSA Security Checkpoint Project. Motion: Motion to approve consideration of runner-up proposals by Tomás Saraceno (Tanya Bonakdar Gallery) and Ranjani Shettar (Talwar Gallery) for future San Francisco International Airport opportunities. Motion: Motion to approve selected artist, Mark Handforth and proposal for a suspended sculpture for San Francisco International Airport: Terminal 1, Boarding Area B, Bend Project as recommended by the Artist Selection Panel. Motion: Motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into contract with artist Mark Handforth for an amount not to exceed $620,000 for design, fabrication, transportation and installation consultation for his proposed sculpture for the San Francisco International Airport: Terminal 1, Boarding Area B, mid-pier location. Motion: Motion to approve consideration of runner-up proposals by Tomás Saraceno (Tanya Bonakdar Gallery) and Ranjani Shettar (Talwar Gallery) for future San Francisco International Airport opportunities.
