Additional costs Community Fee There is a monthly community fee of 393.07 for 1 bed apartments and 451.43 for 2 bed apartments, plus an additional person rate of 51.40 per month. These rates are reviewed annually on 1st April. The community fee covers the building maintenance costs, water supply, gas and electricity, 24 hour emergency response service and includes a contribution to the reserve fund for major repairs. Other optional services (such as laundry and hospital escorts) are available. These are charged separately as used. Shared Ownership In simple terms, sharing owners buy a share in their home, between 30% and 90% this amount is decided by what the shared owner can afford or wants to pay. Belong owns the remaining share. The sharing owner pays rent on this remaining share to Belong. For example, if you were the sharing owner of a flat valued at 153,000 and you bought a 50% share you would pay 76,500 (this could be raised by either a mortgage, through savings or the sale of your existing home). You would also pay 50% of the rent that would normally be charged on the property to us. You can ask Belong to consider your request to buy further shares in the property until outright ownership is achieved. The cost of your new share will depend on how much your property is worth when you want to buy the share. You may also have to pay the legal fees.
