Reading Room SITUATION St Ann Street is known as one of the most architecturally interesting streets within Salisbury s city centre. DESCRIPTION The Doll s House is Grade II * listed and is possibly the most impressive example of Georgian architecture in Salisbury outside the Cathedral Close. Over the last few years it has been the subject of extensive and careful restoration and is now a wonderful home, suitable for a variety of purchasers. Throughout the house care has been taken to restore or replicate the numerous period details including elaborate plasterwork, joinery, door surrounds, cornicing, architraves, working shutters, door furniture, panelling and fireplaces. An orangery style extension is a later addition with a stepped lead roof and stunning glass cupolas. The house provides stylish and elegant accommodation. Of particular note in the entrance hall is the stunning Georgian multi-vaulted ceiling. The main reception rooms, the drawing room and sitting room are situated off the entrance hall. Both these rooms have original fireplaces and fireplace surrounds. The kitchen to the back of the property has Indian limestone flooring, stainless steel kitchen units with carrara marble work tops. The breakfast room has painted wooden wall panelling and attractive decorative cupboards either side of the fireplace. Two sets of double doors lead on to the paved terrace overlooking the private and secluded garden. Leading from the breakfast room is the reading room, this room like the breakfast room forms part of the orangery style extension and again has doors out to the terrace.
