St Mary s Church Hall Refurbishment Why are we doing this? To provide a welcoming, attractive and versatile facility for the parish of St Mary's The existing hall kitchen and toilets are in urgent need of upgrading to bring them up to modern expectations and meet regulations in terms of hygiene & use. To continue to receive valuable revenue from letting the hall the building needs a full refurbishment including the acquisition of new stackable chairs and tables. The hall décor is tired, worn and in need of repair and modernising. Many of the windows are beyond repair and need complete replacement. The parish is in urgent need of a comfortable, social presentation and meeting room to support wide-ranging activities and provide flexibility for events. Parish Support You may be aware the Fundraising Team has been active for some time raising funds for the anticipated Parish Hall refurbishment. These ambitious plans can only be achieved with the continued support and involvement of parishioners in fundraising. What we want to achieve The main Hall redecorated & transformed into a far more open & attractive space. Provision of a new Amenity Meeting Room facility. The modernised hall able to support simultaneous uses by different groups. The catering and toilet facilities to be fully upgraded. Timescale and Cost The above alterations are currently estimated to be in the region of 100,000 and planned to take place over the next two years. Phase 1: By end of 2014 The refurbishment of the Library Room and Kitchen, plus miscellaneous preparatory repairs including replacement of Windows. Phase 2: By end of 2015 Completion of the new Meeting Room, new Hall Entrance, remodelled toilet block and the full refurbishment and decoration of the Main Hall.
