Margaret Crabtree Warren September 4, 1924 ~ April 20, 2018 Margaret Crabtree Warren age 93, a resident of rural Charleston, died Friday, April 20, 2018 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born September 4, 1924 to Cecil C. and Elvie Mae Patton Crabtree in Illinois. At a young age, her family moved to Missouri and lived in New Madrid then Blodgett. Following her graduation from Blodgett High School she married and moved to the Warren family farm where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a floral designer and worked with her sister at the Flower Basket in Sikeston for a number of years. She later was employed with Affairs to Remember and Helen s Florist in Sikeston until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Unity Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. On July 21, 1945 she married Robert L. Bob Warren who preceded her in death on December 3, 1997. Surviving are two children, Susan K. Warren of Austin, Texas and Retired LTC John G. Warren of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Emily Susan Warren (Jeff) Rice of Glendale, CA, Jacob Jake Patton Warren of Jefferson City, and John Henry Martin of Mexico; one great grandson, August Monroe Rice of Glendale, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jerry Marty Martin; two brothers, Gib Crabtree and Jim Crabtree, and one sister, Susie Crabtree.
James F. Whitten joined the church on Sunday, April 22, by transfer of membership from Hyde Park Baptist Church. He began worshipping with us over a year ago. Jim grew up in Lufkin and earned his degree in business from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He moved to Austin in 1978. Jim s beloved wife of 37 years, Marjorie, passed away in March of this year. He founded Jim Whitten Roof Consultants, LLC, and his company consulted with the roof contractor on our buildings. Jim was invited to visit ABC by member Don Carrington. ABC Men enjoy a Tuesday Lunch at the Catfish Parlour on April 17, 2018.
